Chapter 19

Suddenly, something large lunges out of the water at them.

Ulric finds himself looking at sets of sharp teeth that are inches from his face.

"It's...a gator..." Chrysalis gasps.

The mighty beast opens its jaws.

Ulric shuts his eyes, bracing for the teeth to chomp through his skin.

Chrysalis fires a green beam from her horn that hits the gator, and it goes limp.

Ulric scrambles free and wipes himself.

"You're welcome." Chrysalis says.

Then they notice dark figures swimming in the water.

"This pond must be full of gators," Ulric figures.

"Fortunately, I can fly," Chrysalis mentions, and she flies to the rock.

Another gator launches out of the water, and barely misses her legs with its mouth.

Just after, so does a third, also missing.

More try to bite Chrysalis, but she makes it to the rock safely.

She picks up the next piece and avoids more gators on the way back.

"Where to next?" Ulric asks.

"Townsville, but not until next morning. I've had enough action for one day," Chrysalis yawns, and she trots away.

"You're welcome," Ulric mutters before following her.

The two push aside branches and plants as they return to their camp.

At one point, Chrysalis finds herself looking at the heroes, quietly sleeping away.

Except for Daffy, who is snoring heavily like he has toilet paper for nasal tissue.

"Well, if it isn't the brats from earlier, Ulric chuckles.

He and Chrysalis try to creep around them.

Then Daffy suddenly rises onto his feet, with his eyes still closed and snoring like a madman.

His head is laying back as he starts to walk slumped as a zombie would, headed for Chrysalis and Ulric.

The villains move out the way and Daffy runs into a tree.

"Pardon me miss," he moans as he turns around.

Ulric feels a tingling sensation develop in his nose, then it rises

Chrysalis sees this and tries to move her hoof over Ulric's mouth.

She is too late as Ulric releases a loud sneeze that scares a few birds out of their trees.

Chrysalis looks at Daffy, expecting his eyes to pop open.

Somehow, none of the heroes are woken up.

In fact, Daffy says "Bless you," before continuing his sleepwalking.

"Okay. We just need to make it to the other side," Chrysalis says.

Ulric nods and they try to crawl to safety.

Then Ulric feels something move into his pocket and take something out.

He darts his head to see Daffy with the map in his hand.

"Hey!" Ulric shouts.

"SShhh!" Chrysalis shushes.

Daffy groans as he stumbles away.

Chrysalis lights her horn to try to slide it free.

Once it leaves Daffy's hands, the duck springs up as his eyes fling open, and then shouts gibberish.

"Hooza! Whatza!"

Chrysalis immediately places the map back in his hand and Daffy falls asleep.

Chrysalis tries again and the same thing happens.

"Hooza! Whatza! Meetza!"

Chrysalis returns it and sighs.

The map has become Daffy's little blanket, a sense of security to allow him to sleep, like a child.

Chrysalis notices the moon is starting to fall to the horizon.

"Okay. I'll take it out again, and we run before he sees us. Ready?" Chrysalis says.

"But-"

"Go!"

The map is removed, given to Ulric, and Daffy is awake.

While he gathers his senses, Chrysalis and Ulric race to the bushes, where they will be shielded in safety.

Unfortunately, one of Ulric's feet runs into a tree root.

His face meets the muddy ground, and a spike of pain jabs into his knee, causing him to howl.

The heroes jump up and look around.

Daffy also wakes up.

Kelsey sees the wolf in the street jacket soaked in the mud.

"Ulric!" she exclaims.

"I don't mean to be the guy who cried wolf but...WOLF!" Daffy shouts.

Beside him lies the map, which Candy snatches away.

"Run!" she yells.

Emily scoops her up, and the heroes take off.

Ulric and Chrysalis charge to keep up.

"Give me back that piece!" Ulric demands.

"Never!" April shouts back.

Suddenly, they have to stop in their tracks to not fall into a ravine.

Ulric sees them cornered and stops as well.

"You have nowhere to run," he snickers.

Jack Rabbit appears and joins the party.

"Ah, hello there," he says.

He points a gun at them.

"Give us the map." Ulric instructs, while reaching out his hand, as if the heroes will say Sure, forget saving the universe, you can have it.

"Or what?" Kelsey questions.

"Or I'll unleash a buffoon!" Ulric answers as he searches himself for a nose to use.

Unfortunately, there aren't any.

"Ha! You don't have one!" April notices.

"Time to transform!" Emily tells her friends.

A large glow of light forms around them as they lift off of the ground.

New outfits appear around them as well as longer hair.

Emily has one that is bubblegum pink, Lily with a buttercup yellow dress, April now wears clover green, Kelsey is in an orange outfit, and Chloe has one that is blue.

They introduce their new names.

"A Fabulous Shimmer, A Glow In Your Heart! I'm Glitter Lucky!"

"When You Mess With Me, You're Playing With Fire! I'm Glitter Sunny!"

"Puppies And Kittens, The Power Of Love! I'm Glitter Peace!"

"A Force As Strong As Life Itself! I'm Glitter Spring!"

"Soft And Swift As The Winter Wind. I'm Glitter Breeze!"

"Time To Blaze Away To A Happy Ending!"

The girls land on the ground.

"Shining Bright, Here Comes The Glitter Force!"
