Jungkook POV

They were in their Physics class when their teacher put the screen on, showing the news.

"....and now we can, for the first time, talk to the renowned scientists Park Seongwon and Park Yoojung of the Park Lunar Research Centre...."

Taehyung nudged a frozen Jungkook.
"Isn't that where your Jimin lives?" he asked. Jungkook could only nod as his eyes remained fixated on the news.

"...yes, all our crew were astounded by our discovery. For centuries we've believed that the only living organisms lived on our Earth. Now we may have discovered evidence to support the existence of life on the Moon.It is a very exciting time for me and my husband especially" Mrs Park said, smiling brightly into the camera. Jimin's parents looked like him. He had his father's strong jaw but his mother's soft cheeks and plump lips.

"....and of course, the question people around the world have been asking. Will you ever return to Earth?"

There was a pause as Park Seongwon and Park Yoojung glanced at each other. He could feel his chest tighten. Jungkook realised, barely able to breathe, that the whole class had gone silent. Their teacher had always followed the goings on of the centre and he knew if anyone dared make a sound he'd personally fail them.

".....we have made preparations to speak at the next UN summit on Space Exploration in Incheon. Thank you but we must return to our work" they said before the livestream ended. The rest of what the news reporter said, their arms waving animatedly, was lost to Jungkook. The Park family were possibly coming to Earth, to South Korea. He didn't know if he was excited or scared about possibly seeing Jimin.

Then he remembered; his family were basically celebrities. Even if Jimin came, he wouldn't see Jungkook. He'd be too busy having fun with idols and actors to have time for a student from a small town like his...

Jimin POV

"Are we really going to Earth?" Jimin asked for the fifth time. His parents had gathered all personnel to a meeting to discuss their current situation. His parents had made a groundbreaking discovery and he could see how happy they were. His father couldn't even try to look angry as he turned to Jimin, he even smiled at his son's enthusiasm.

"Yes, yes we are.....but it won't be simple. Only a select number of us will be boarding the return shuttle to Earth. You'll have to go through a rigours training scheme to even think of getting a place" his father said. Jimin's face fell as he glanced at his mother.

"I won't have to do that, will I?" he asked. His mother looked to his father before taking his hand.
"We'll leave you all to celebrate. Come, Seongwon" she said, leading them both out of the meeting room. She didn't stop till they had reached the library before she turned to face them.
"Tell him" she said, looking at her husband. He didn't meet either of their eyes.

"Tell me what? What do you want to tell me?" Jimin asked, looking between his parents. His mother sighed and placed a hand on both of his shoulders.
"You can't come with us Jimin" she said softly. For a moment Jimin thought they were joking. Until he saw that their faces still wore a look of sadness.

"No...No! I'm coming. I have to come" he shouted. He was so close, so close to finally meeting Jungkook. They wouldn't take this from him.
"Why?! Because of your friend, the one you've been talking to behind our backs" his father said. Jimin swallowed, looking down.
"How...." he started, his voice quiet.
"You're not a very good hacker, Jimin. We've both know for a while. What's so special about this friend of yours?" she asked, looking to him reassuringly.

"Everything.....his smile, his eyes, he's quite funny but I'll never tell him that" Jimin said. His mother looked to his father who sighed.
"You seem very attached to this friend of your.....if you can pass the training, I'll think about letting you come. But if you can't pass the training, we aren't allowed to take you on board. Do you understand?" he said. Jimin nodded.

He would do it for Jungkook. Just so he could see the look on Jungkook's face when they'd finally meet.
