RECAP:
He smiled and brought his lips to mine again. I could taste the sweetness in his lips. Then he slowly pulled away and looked into my eyes.
"I hate to admit it, but I think......I think I'm falling for you...hard."
My eyes widened.
"You what!?" I said not believing what I heard.
He grinned at my shocked expression.
"Just shut up and kiss me."
Then he gently pulled my face, bringing my lips to his.
The kiss was short but full of sweetness and care. I pulled away and looked at him. He put my hair behind my ear.
"You should rest."
I smiled and nodded.
There was a knock in the door. Gabriel sighed.
"Come in." I said
The door opened and Peach's head popped her head in first. Then she slowly entered shyly.
She bowed her head.
"Your highness, I didn't mean to intrude." She said softly.
"It's alright, I was about to leave anyway." He said getting up.
Then he took my hand and kissed it.
I blushed. I could see Peach's shock expression.
"I'll come later." said Gabriel.
I smiled and watched him leave the room. As soon as he left Peach squealed and ran to me.
"Oh my god! He just kissed your hand!"
I blushed.
"Why didn't you tell me you guys were together?!" she said faking a pout.
"We're not together!" I quickly said.
She scoffed.
"Yeah right! Then what was that?"
I went blank for a minute. Really, what was that?
"I...don't know."
She sighed.
"Gosh Aimee, you are one think-headed vampire."
I scowled.
"It simply means he likes you, a lot."
Well, he did say he was falling for me. I blushed.
"Ha! I knew it! I knew it! I could see the chemistry from the start anyway."
I smiled shyly and she laughed.
She talked about school and everything I missed out for the two days I was unconscious.
"...and...umm..." she said hesitating.
"What's wrong?" I asked her.
"I'm sorry. I'm so very sorry."
"What are you apologizing for?"
"For not telling Prince Gabriel who did this to you!! It's just that she threatened me, and I'm scared of her. When she gets angry, she..." she trailed off.
"I know. I was there."
"I'm sorry." She said again.
"There's nothing to be sorry for, I'm sure I would have done the same thing."
She only smiled.
Then, I could hear something vibrating.
"What's that?" I asked.
Peach quickly rummaged through her bag and took out her cell phone.
"Hey....shit...k, I'll be there in a sec." she said.
She hurriedly got up.
"I got to go, I completely forgot about our math period we're having now. I really don't want detention."
"Ok, see you later?" I asked.
She smiled. "Definitely."
We hugged quickly and she ran out of the room.
I sighed. I looked around the room searching for a TV. There wasn't any. Great. I'm so bored.
There was a knock on the door.
"Come in." I said.
Cleon came in.
He walked to my bed and sat on the chair beside it.
"hey." He said.
I smiled.
"How're you feeling?" he asked
"better." I said.
"Good."
"Aren't you missing class?" I asked
"Yeah"
"Won't you get in trouble?"
He shook his head. "I got a sick leave."
Oh.
"You don't look sick." I said.
"No silly, I just pretended to be sick. So I could come and see you."
I smiled.
"Thank you." I said.
He chuckled.
"I heard what happened from Peach." He said
I didn't say anything.
"It must have been horrible."
I remained silent.
"I'm sorry you had to go through that."
I looked at him.
"Are sure you're ok?" he asked
I looked away.
"It was scary." I said
He took my hand in his.
"But it's ok now. It's over." I said meekly.
"I'm always here for you, you should know that."
I blushed and nodded.
"Good."
An involuntary yawn escaped my lips.
"Looks like someone is sleepy."
"I'm not."
He rolled his eyes.
"Close your eyes."
"But I'm not-"
"Close your eyes" he repeated.
I sighed and closed my eyes. We were both silent for some time. Strangely, I was actually feeling sleepy.
"Now, are you still not sleepy?"
"I'm....I'm...not..."
I heard him chuckle.
The last thing I felt shocked me but I was too sleepy to react. Cleon's lips on mine.
