Part Five - Recorder

I woke up yet from another mysterious dream.

I opened my eyes, and I was blinded by bright lights.

The place smelled like sanitizers and it was really cold. I wondered why my vision was blurry but probably because I just woke up.

Then, a sweet and worried voice came near.

"Anah! Can you see me?" I figured out the tone of this person's voice. It was Ms. Taki. I wondered why that was the first thing she asked, but I let it flow.

"A little." I answered. I tried to scratch my eyes over and over again, but it was blurry and it felt like there was no way for it to be clearer.

"Anah, don't worry, the doctor is here to speak with you." I didn't know what happened or what happened to my eyes, but all I remember was a feeling. A feeling that is still not clear.

"Hello Ms. Yasuda, it seemed that the person you were with, rushed you to the hospital due to hypoglycemia, stress, and alcohol. The statement you were in last night... caused your eyes to become really blurry."

The doctor said as I could feel her laying down next to me.

I can't believe I'm blind. And as hard as it may seem, I won't be able to draw, or play any instruments. 

"Doctor...  can't I just wear glasses?! I mean I know it's really blurry. But... I want to normally see!" I cried out and begged. But the doctor said no glasses would cure the blindness.

I felt my warm tears going down my rosy cheeks. I won't be able to promise the things that I'd be making it in the industry.

Everything shattered,

most especially my heart.

"N-no... I won't be able to work, I won't be able to draw... Make music, and most especially see things..." I tried to stop my eyes from crying but I can't.

"I'm sorry miss, the blindness might just be temporary. If the blindness fades in 2 or 4 months, then you have a big chance to recover your vision... but if it's more than that, It might be permanent."

I was speechless and It felt like the world gave up on me.

"I'll go and prescribe your medicines." I felt the foam as if someone just stood up, I guessed it was the doctor.

Warm hands wrapped me and it felt like Ms. Taki's. "Anah, don't worry. I can walk you home and cook dinner for you tonight." I sighed, Ms. Taki's been there for me for a while now. If it wasn't for Jo-

Joji..?

Joji, the name is so familiar...

My heart suddenly started pounding so fast and loud.

Why am I feeling this way?

Why is my heart aching?

Okay, but first of all, why am I here in a hospital?

I smelled my breath and the bad aroma of sake made my face disappointed. Have I been drunk that I can't even remember what happened?

I went back to reality ; Ms. Taki's been doing a lot for me, I can't even think of ways of paying her back.

"Ms. Taki, I think I'm just a burden for you... I mean, after all the things you've done for me, I haven't even made something in return..."

I said bowing my head.

She held my cold hands and something I can't explain suddenly touched my heart.
