Marinette woke up the next day in Adrien's arms. The two must've fallen asleep on the couch. Marinette checked her phone.

6:12 AM

Marinette panicked. She shook Adrien awake and the two quickly got ready for the school day just in time to get there before the final late bell rung.

Marinette kisses Adrien's cheek before walking away quickly and rushing to class. Adrien didn't panic. The teacher was obsessed with him, new kid and all. He had excuses. He took his time.

Adrien took a deep breath, as he usually did before he stepped into the class.

Lila walked into the classroom after Adrien. She sent Adrien a smirk and glared at Marinette. Like she had for the past week. She had an annoyed look on her face. She looked angry. She swung her hand and slapped Marinette. The stinging brought slight tears to Marinette's eyes, which she pushed back. Marinette placed her hand on her stinging cheek.

"What was that for?" Marinette breathed out.

Lila scoffed.

"Adrien was mine for the taking! How dare you? You're not even pretty!" Lila exclaimed. Marinette got up from her seat and stood in front of her.

"Stop being a spoiled brat! He doesn't even like you. You think you can just swoop in with your filthy hands and snatch every guy you think it cute for you. Well guess what, you can't. New girl." Marinette folded her arms. The whole class had eyes on Lila and Marinette.

"You little bi-" Lila started. Marinette cut her off with her hand, holding it up in front of her face. She placed her index finger on her mouth, shushing her.

"Just shut up, it's for the best. You should go back to wherever you came from." Marinette said. A few girls snickered behind Marinette. Lila was quiet. She smacked
Marinette's hand off of her mouth and walked to the class door. Marinette called her name.

"Lila?" Marinette called. She turned around, furious.

"Stop glaring at me everytime we cross paths. You look ugly." She said. Lila scoffed and walked out of the room. Alya laughed and looked at Marinette histerically. She touched Marinette's cheek and Marinette flinched. She grabbed her phone and looked at her reflection through the blank, black screen. The left side of her face was covered with a light red handprint.

'That's gonna sting later.'
