Sans rolled over, squinting his eye sockets to peek at the clock on Grillby's bedside table. The black box read "7:42" in green numbers, the colon flashing with each passing second. Before he had a chance to do anything else, warm arms were wrapped around his stomach, pulling him backward.

Grillby giggled as he brought Sans into his embrace, nuzzling his face into the skeleton's back. His arms tightened his hold, seeming to not let go anytime soon. The more Sans tried to escape, the tighter his hold became. Eventually, Sans went still, the fiery elemental placing a victorious kiss on his cheekbone.

"Y'know I could just teleport if I really wanted to leave." Sans chuckled, intertwining his boney hands with flaming ones.

"But you don't want to leave, do you?" The Grillby teased, playing with the skeleton's fingers.

"Heh, you can see right through me, can'tcha?" Sans snickered at his own pun, smiling more as his fiance did too.

Grillby nodded, not that Sans could see, so he held him tighter in response. He ran his thumbs over the skeleton's hands, another sleepy giggle leaving him. "You know, your hands are still super small and adorable."

Sans face deepened in blue, his smile widening. He rolled over, now facing Grillby. His arms found their way forward wrapping around Grillby's waist.

The fiery monster looked him in the eye as his flames tinted red. "Small and adorable, just like the rest of you, Sans."

Grillby's words earned a kiss from the little skeleton, Sans giggling more and more. At this point, Sans didn't know whether it was last night's alcohol or his overwhelming happiness making him so giggly. Either way, he didn't care, he was with Grillby regardless. And they were engaged. And they were happy. That's what he cared about.

Sans leaned forward, burying his face in Grillby's bare chest. Even though he were a skeleton, he still enjoyed the warmth Grillby provided.

"What time is it?"

Sans poked at Grillby's stomach, not thinking much of it. "It's close to eight." He looked up a moment later when Grillby had jumped a little. Curious, Sans poked his side again giggling as he realized.

"No-Sans stop! Sans-Sans please!" Grillby tried to speak, but was struggling between laughter and short squeals. Instead, he took a hold of both of Sans' wrists, a thick blue taking over his flames.

Sans couldn't help but smile. He stared into Grillby's eyes, his own blush matching his partner's.

"You're never going to let this go, are you?" Grillby asked, Sans' smile only growing in response.

The skeleton began to laugh, tears leaving his eyes as he couldn't breathe. He took a few deep breaths, wiping away his tears. (I was originally gonna put joyful liquid here but it sounded too gross so I didn't😂) Sans attempted to hold a straight face, but broke quickly into high pitched giggles. Still recovering from his fit of laughter, a snort echoed through his skull.

Grillby's eyes went wide with such a sound, his own smile turning into a smirk. "You're so cute oh my god." He kissed Sans once more, both having something new to tease one another about.

The skeleton sat up, free from Grillby's embrace. He rolled off the squishy mattress, tan sheets bunched up towards the foot of the bed. Sans grabbed a beige-ish colored sweatshirt, sliding it on over his small frame. Grillby's sweatshirt was quite baggy on him, though he didn't mind. He rubbed his eye sockets, then walked back over to the bed. Sans reached forward, pulling his fiery monster out of bed and helped him get dressed.

The two made it downstairs shortly after, working together to make breakfast. When given the energy and putting in the effort, Sans was a pretty decent cook. Grillby always encouraged him, motivating him just like Papyrus would. Sans stood still, grating cheese, while Grillby stirred eggs in a pan. The shorter monster finished his task, sneaking beside Grillby and dumping the bowl of cheese into the pan. Fire rose from the stove, matching Grillby's flames as he continued to stir.

The fire elemental set the pan aside, the flames from his magic dying out. He poured the jumble of eggs, cheese, and potatoes into a bowl, turning to Sans who was cleaning off the counter. In one quick motion, he stepped close, wrapping his arms around his little skeleton. Hugging him tight, a smirk on his face.

Sans' movements came to a halt the moment he heard Grillby approach him. Next thing he knew, he was trapped in yet another warm embrace, unable to escape his Fiance's love. He leaned back in defeat, letting out a playful sigh. "C'mon Grillbz, I was cleanin' up. You know that doesn't happen often."

Grillby let out a laugh, releasing his hold. "I'm only teasing." He turned away, allowing Sans to finish up.

As Sans continued cleaning the counter, he set dishes in the sink neatly, and put away all the ingredients that were out on the marble white counters. He closed the fridge, the cold rectangle making the fridge noise. The skeleton turned around, his eyes on Grillby's back. The fiery monster sat in a chair, low enough for Sans to get his revenge. He teleported, standing directly behind him, silence washing over the room.

Just as Grillby's shoulders dropped in a relaxed manner, Sans leaned over him from behind, his arms curling around his neck.

"Revenge." Sans mumbled, nuzzling into the nick of Grillby'z neck, sneakily planting a kiss there.

"Alright, come here." Grillby mused, stretching an arm out, inviting Sans to sit on his lap.

The skeleton happily joined him at the table, his right arm around Grillby's shoulders, his left side aided by his magic to feed himself. Grillbz held Sans still, his left arm around his waist, hand on his hip to prevent him from falling. The other arm focused on eating. The two shared their breakfast, chatting about the most random subjects. Or at least, until the subject of Sans' recently paid tab came up.

Sans gave Grillby a look, the very same of a skeptical young child.

"Don't get me wrong, I'm beyond ecstatic that you actually paid your tab-but don't you dare start another one!"

"No promises." Sans chuckled at the thought. His honesty earned a kiss on the cheek. No matter how many times it happened, the skeleton would never tire of such affection. "At the very least, I won't let it get as bad as it had before."

Grillby looked into Sans' eyes, or rather, eye sockets, giggling at the the blue blush that covered his cheekbones. He leaned forward, their foreheads resting against one another's. Grillbz closed his eyes, intertwining his fingers with his Fiance's smaller, boney ones. "We're engaged..." Grillby whispered, as if he couldn't believe it.

Sans gave his hand a squeeze, his left finding it's way to Grillby's cheek. The blue in his cheekbones deepened as he replied. "Yeah, we are." He scoffed, repeating his words. "Yeah, we really are."

The fiery monster's smile grew wider, his eyes giving away every emotion he felt. That and his flames did that too.

Seeing such a smile, all of Sans' doubts floated away, vanishing from his mind. He was happy, and he didn't need to worry about the "what if's" anymore. He was here now, and Grillby's made it clear he cares, why else would he have said yes with tears in his eyes?

Grillby could see the skeleton's thoughts, clear as day. He looked at Sans with a mischievous smile, planting a kiss on his teeth while he was so enveloped in his own mind. The elemental only laughed more when Sans blushed harder, hiding his face in Grillby's chest. The taller monster hugged him tight, glad to have moments like these with him.

"C'mon, I have to open the bar soon, blush ball." Grillbz teased, patting Sans' shoulders.

Sans got to his feet, his hand already being held by the fiery monster. The two left together, only parting ways once they reached the bar. Grillby gave Sans one more kiss, then waved as he stepped inside. The skeleton snapped his fingers, warping to his house. He stood in front of the door, a smile so wide, he looked like a guilty puppy. He turned the silver knob, stepping inside.

Not even a full second later, Frisk and Papyrus were at his side laughing and crying, overwhelmed with happiness towards Sans' engagement. The shorter skeleton let out a sigh, knowing they would beg for every last detail.
