Chapter 1

CHAPTER 1: THE LETTER UNDER THE WINDOW

It's really dark in here. This room has always been the darkest part of the house that my family call it the Dark Room. Although curtains had never been on my window, sunshine never seems to be pouring in. Maybe it's because of the room never facing the sun. I walked in and shut the door close behind me. It's almost eight and I just had my supper. All I have to do now is read a book until I fall asleep.

Before heading to bed, I stood there and glanced around my room as if entering it for the first time. Everywhere I turn, I see books, books and more books. Anyone could have guessed who I am by the view of my room. Yes, I am the so called Kai Nerdy-real name? Kaira Rosvey, a 13 year old teenager who wishes to have a better teenlife. I yawned while I thought of which book to choose. As I was scanning the room, I spotted something yellowish stuck under my window next to my bed. What could it be? Looks something like an envelope. I strode across the room lazily towards the window and saw the yellowish envelope with emerald green ink, half of it was in my room and the other half was fluttering outside the window. That's strange, who would have placed it in here? I pulled up the window and took it. Written in ink, it read;

Ms. K Rosvey

The Dark Room, 2nd Floor,

24 High Bench Residential Area,

West London,

England

A letter for me? The address so accurate? I blinked blankly at the envelope. Who in the world except for my mum, dad and elder brother knows that I live in the Dark Room. Hah! Must've been Taylor's act-my brother, I starred at the curious envelope before opening it. It unfolded and in it, I read;

HOGWATRS SCHOOL OF WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY.

Dear, Ms Rosvey,

We are pleased to inform that you have a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed list of all necessary books and equipment.

Term begins on 1 September and we hope to see you then.

I folded back the letter and giggled. He expected me to fall for this piece of junk? The envelope slipped from my grip and fell on my feet. Ouch! Something is in there! O took it and peeped inside as I pulled out a golden plated badge with a huge 'H' in the centre of the emblem. Wait, its nit plated with gold but fully made of gold. Oh my god!

No one would care to order a real gold badge just to make a joke that is obvious for no one to fall for. But if Taylor actually did this, how did he get all the money to do it. Is this real? I have to show this to mum, and Taylor's not going to escape for this. I peeped in the letter again just to make sure there is nothing else but saw another piece of paper. In there;

HOGWARTS SCHOOL OF WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY.

Uniform:

1. Three sets of plain work robes (black)

2. One plain pointed hat (black) for day wear

3. One pair of protective gloves (preferred dragon skin)

4. One winter cloak (black, silver fastenings)

Please note that all pupils' clothes should carry name tags.
