You've always noticed a shy boy in the library, a Hufflepuff reading a book about magical animals.

You've never really taken a notice to him until he sat opposite you one day while you were reading a book about dragons.

"Sorry to intrude, I just need to ask you something." he started, he's really cute, you observed.

"Thunderbirds have the ability to change the weather, correct?" he asked and you nodded, he let out a huge sigh.

"thank you, I'm newt Scamander."

"y/n y/l/n " You smiled at the shy boy who sheepishly smiled with a blush rising to his cheeks.

"sorry again, that's a beautiful name. Oh, sorry, I'll go now." he said quickly before returning to his usual corner in the library while you laughed silently at the socially awkward boy.

"Scamander!" You yelled as you Found him outside on the bench, reading. He looked up and laughed when he saw you running towards him.

"or should I say salamander?" You teased once you reached him.

"y-you know you can just call me newt Y/N. " he told you and you put on your beautiful smile, he thought it was beautiful anyway.

"Nah, I like salamander."
You joked and he blushed and quietly laughed.

"so I need advice." You started.

"I like this guy and I'm pretty sure he likes me-" you started.
You saw his smile drop slightly and you knew your plan was working.

"but do I wait for him to ask me, or do I ask him out?" You asked and newt didn't meet your eyes.

"Well if you like him, wait- why are you asking me this?" he asked and you rolled your eyes.

"because you're a guy and I need a guy's point of view." You stated as if it were obvious.

"fine, but if I were you I would just go for it before you miss your chance." he told you and opened his book again, getting ready to pick up where he left of reading.

"ok then, me and you Scamander, Saturday for hogsmeade." You told him and took him by surprise, you have him a quick peck on the cheek before running back to where you came from.

While newt was a blushing mess trying to process what just happened.
