now, it was evident that something was different between the two of them.

ever since that day taehyung sang for her, and she had pledged to support him, they had definitely become nicer to each other.

it was an unspoken agreement to forget their first encounter, and the taehyung who she saw daily was starting to become more friendly, and charming even.

he joked around with her, offered to carry her books when he was in a good mood, waited for her after classes (that he walked her to). they had gone from unhappy acquaintances being in a fake relationship to good friends that were comfortably faking a relationship.

she finally concluded that the taehyung she first met, was someone who acted mean and tough, and put up a wall to protect himself from strangers.

he still acted cold to others, like people in their class, but he was beginning to warm up to the rest of her friends.

and he was completely different with her now.

she felt like she was slowly crossing over the walls he put up, and had even unconvered a new side to taehyung.

his aegyo side.

normally, she found aegyo annoying and wanted to retch whenever sooji posted a video of herself doing it, but strangely, taehyung's was tolerable, cute even.

it had occured on one of their walks home. they had walked passed the convenience store near their house and taehyung wanted to eat cheese ramyun with her. aera politely rejected as she wanted to watch her favourite show on tv, but then suddenly, it came out.

"제발 rara ya...치스라면먹고십어요!! feed taetae hmm?" he said in a high pitched voice.

having never seen this side to him before, aera stared in disbelief at his puppy dog eyes as he tugged on her hand, pulling her towards the store.

she was caught off guard, unsure of whether to laugh or cringe or swoon. and she did a little of both, almost wanting to pinch his cheeks.

regardless, it worked, and aera found herself drinking the soup of her ramyun instead of watching the latest episode of her show that she had never missed dutifully since the start of the season.

but for some reason, she didn't mind.

another thing that was becoming almost routine now, was taehyung singing aera a song.

it had started one day on the way home from school. now that exam period was starting, all the students had to stay back and study until at least 9pm at night.

after class one day, the two of them were walking side by side, shoulder touching shoulder when she suddenly paused.

"sing me a song."

taehyung had raised his eyebrows surprised. "wae? tch, you're so random, weirdo." and with a slight chuckle, he began walking forward, dismissing her statement as a joke.

she caught up to his long strides and grabbed his hand, pulling him to a stop.

"sing me a song."

"ya rara why are you like this! i'm hungry, let's go have cheese ramyun pleaseeee." he whined, dragging his words.

but aera didn't budge.

"i'll only move if you sing."

"don't be stubborn, let's goooooo."

"no, sing me a song. its good practice anyways!"

he was about to protest, but aera gave him a stern look. and so he eventually gave up, let out a deep sigh and sang for her.

now that it was routine, aera rarely had to ask. all she did was squeeze his hand, and his melodious voice would carry tunes automatically. some days they were happy songs, and some days they were sad. and as he sang, the two of them would stroll slowly to the convenience store by their house, and have cheese ramyun to end the night.

it had been a week of this new routine now, and aera decided to pull taehyung over to her house instead, as instant noodles were "unhealthy and should only be eaten in moderation".

"let's have bibimbap. i have some kimchi and bulgogi left over. we can just fry an egg and cook rice!" aera had always been good at taking care of her own food, as both her parents were workaholics and were always travelling. although they made a lot of money, aera still insisted on staying in the small apartment because she knew she would feel lonely in a big house.

"oh, i can buy some gochujang from the store, you start making the rice first!" taehyung insisted, causing aera to smile.

in a week, so much had changed. during their first encounter, aera couldn't wait to get away from him, but now she was inviting him to her house!

she hurriedly entered her house an started cooking some rice, before changing and tidying up.

ten minutes later, taehyung finally arrived. "your house is so cozy!" he complimented, taking in the room.

meanwhile, aera was busy taking in taehyung. he was wearing a plain old tee and some basketball shorts, but he still managed to look good. another thing she realised, was that his hair was all over the place, like he had been in a rush to change his clothes. without thinking, she quickly reached up to arrange it.

as she flattened his hair, she realised that he had turned to face her and was staring at her.

quickly redrawing her hand, she blushed. "ah mian, your hair was sticking up everywhere..."

he smiled his rectangular smile, as he pulled her to the kitchen. "gwaenchana, lets cook the eggs!"

she agreed and quickly joined him, heart fluttering at the way he looked at her. it made her feel warm and fuzzy inside.

she liked it.
