Kaylen's POV

I sometimes sit and wonder what our lifes would have been like if Lindsey never died. If Hayley had never been taken away. If everything had never happened.

If we had never met One Direction.

What if, by some twisted fate, I had never slipped my number into Naill's pocket? What if I had never even snuck backstage to meet them?

What if I had just went home like any other teenage girl? Walked home, screamed about how much I loved them, and then slowly forget that they exsisted. .

"Kaylen, wake up!" The voice shook me awake, and I open my eyes to see Lindsey smiling at me. "You! How was the concert last night?"

I sit up, glancing around my room. "How did you get in here?" I laugh.

She smiles, pointing towards the window. "I like climbing." She plops on my bed. "Did you meet them?"

I sigh and look down. "No.. I gave up, I was too afraid.."

Lindsey pouts a bit, then smiles. "It's okay dude. One day! You'll meet Naill Horan and he'll ask you to marry him!" She stands up on my bed, hands on her hips. "And I shall see real life Larry!"

I smile and laugh, tripping her. She falls face forward onto the floor, getting up and flipping me off.

"That's a happy ending that'll never happen.." I shrug and flip her off right back. We glare for a minute and bust out laughing.

Five Years Later:

"So, this is goodbye, huh?" Lindsey smiles at me, her suitecase matching perfectly with her skirt and dress top.

I smile sadly back. "America, huh?"

She sighs, "I said I would wait until you got out of Universty.. I got have a job offer, and I can't refuse." The lady calls for boarding onto the plane, and she looks at the terminal and back at me. "It's been real swell being your friend, Kaylen."

I feel myself tear up. The way she says it seems like goodbye. "Same to you, Lindsey."

She extends her hand like a good teacher would. I, being the simple minded culinary chef, pull her into a large hug. She laughs and hugs back. "Remember when we were younger, and you swore to God you'd marry Naill Horan?"

I grin, pulling away. "And you swore you'd see real live action Larry!" We both laugh for awhile, and the lady once again calls, this time last minute boarding.

"To bad One Direction broke up, huh?" She laughs sadly. "Dreams, crushed. But Kay," She takes a step back, "Never stop following your dreams. Promise?"

I smile. Life would be a lot different. "I promise. Now go, you have a life to live."

She grins and runs to the lady behind the desk, hands her ticket and starts into the plane, but stops and turns around, raising her middle finger at my face and winking.

I grin and do it right back, and then she's gone. My best friend, moving off to live her life in America.

And leaving me here alone.

Naill's POV

It's been two years since One Direction broke up.

I trued going solo for awhile, but most of the girls flocked Harry and Louis duet of 'Larry,' and everything went downhill. Well, for me.

Zayn went into acting, with his amazing good looks. Bastard is in the middle of a movie right now. He won't return my calls.

Liam called it quits on the stardome act and fell off the face of the earth for a year. Turns out he went down to Africa and started helping poor children or some crazy shit like that. Still famous though. I remember the headline- 'Liam Payne (right..?) once again starts his star life by helping poor children in Africa!' Won't return my calls..
