Once everyone died the wendigos took over the world. The thing is they never touched the fallen warriors bodies.
The wendigos actually tended to the. They made sure there bodies stayed safe. Even though they were seen as dumb creatures.
They would never hurt such a beautiful setting. That's because they were also once human. Until a great force took them and turned them into these mindless creatures.
They were manipulated and controlled. Until the gems were dormant again. It is said that some where out there they are still there.
Tending to the bodies that they hurt. Hoping that they will rise again.
