A/N: So, this is a really important author's note to read. What this is, is a what-if scenario or a scenario someone has given me that is very serious and shouldn't be taken as canon (at least not yet in my main story). Pregnancy would really affect the whole story if she did get pregnant in the middle of their adventure and it would cause lots of problems for both Skylar, Zoro, and the whole crew. This is why this will be a what-if scenario and not a normal one.

Skylar couldn't help but blankly stare ahead of her as she rested a hand on her stomach, subconsciously pressing the palm of her hand against it as she attempted to register what she had just been told. Chopper couldn't help but be concerned by her reaction, uncomfortably shifting around in his seat as he continued to slowly and carefully speak with her.

"If you're not sure that you're ready for this kind of responsibility, you could always—"

"No" Skylar sharply cut him off, her voice wobbly as it cracked a little while her fingers now curled and bunched up the fabric of her shirt. Small tears pricking the very corners of her eyes as she harshly swallowed down the excessive amount of saliva that had started to build up inside her mouth—she didn't know what to think at the moment. Finding it hard to wrap her head around the reindeer's words, she had been so certain that her constant vomiting these past few mornings had been the cause of illness and nothing more. That was why she had come to Chopper in the first place, but when she had thought to mention that she had missed her time of the month and that her breasts had started to feel sore as well, that was when the doctor had set to work in doing a sort of test that had both scared and confused her. Her confusion only worsening thanks to the questions that he had all too quickly begun to ask her.

When he had finished with his little test and was done asking his questions, he had finally told her what was wrong with her—simply telling her that she was pregnant. At first, she had started to laugh at him, waving her hand in a dismissive manner while acting like he had just told her the world's funniest joke. Such a reaction had quickly come to a halt though when she noticed that his serious expression hadn't faltered and that he stayed silent instead of outright admitting it was a joke. It wasn't that she was angry nor was she sad, she was just...scared? Happy? A mixture of both?

It was hard for her to say how she was feeling because she really didn't know what this feeling was. But there was one thing that she did know for sure, she knew that she wanted this child no matter what. It's no lie that the thought of motherhood has crossed her mind once or twice before—it was a thought that brought a certain warmth to her chest, but at the same time, it scared her. It scared her to think of the possibility that she wouldn't be that great of a mother. That she'd only end up being just like her parents and bring nothing but harm to the child.

Such a thought was what really terrified her.

"Do...do you want me to bring Zoro in here?" Chopper hesitantly asked. "You know, so you can tell him" he quietly added, watching the brunette's every move—watching as she slowly started to curl up into herself more and more with each passing minute as she now began to hold her stomach with both hands. Her eyes were glossy and distant as she slowly began to nod her head after a moment of silence, already starting to bite down on her lower lip as the tears in her eyes begin to flow down her cheeks. What if she ended up hurting this child? What if she truly was an awful person just like her parents?

What if...what if Zoro didn't want this child? Those were the questions that began to flood her mind and that there was were her fear truly lied. She knew for sure that she wanted this child, that was the only thing she was truly certain of. She was so caught up in her thoughts that she hadn't noticed when Chopper had left the room nor did she notice when Zoro entered the Sick Bay, his movements quick as he focused his gaze on her and nothing else. Silently from the doorway, the others stood, all of them curiously peeking into the room as they wanted to know what was wrong with her friend.
