Standing in front of Director Fury the Avengers could just the tension in the room as Fury's one eye burned into them. "What the hell happened out there?" Fury asked. No one spoke up at first trying to figure out it themselves.
"Oh do Please keep me waiting. What the hell happened?" Fury asked again snapping them out of their thoughts.
"It was my fault sir." Clint spoke up, his voice raspy. "It was now wasn't it. And can you tell me why that is Agent?" Fury walked up to him. Swallowing Clint looked down.
"I was getting ready to shoot the target. Then the wind blew and I looked away from my scope for a second and I looked back not double checking if the target had
moved. He hadn't sir it was I who moved. I let my arrow fly and the civilian got hit." Clint replayed the event. "It looked like they were they knew each other but apparently not." Clint added.
"Apparently not. As the poor civilian is in surgery and we don't know who she is. Hell if she died we could have a law suit on our hands here." Fury stated making Clint want to throw up at the idea of him accidentally killing the girl.

"I'll start looking for any information on her Sir." Clint said. Fury raised his eyebrows at his agent. "No you will not. You are off this assignment, all of you are. Dismissed." Fury said leaving Clint a puddle of anger and guilt.
Once they left Fury's office Clint headed straight to the surgical unit. He just needed to make sure she was still alive. Walking fast down the corridors Clint sees a sign that says MEDICAL and heads that way. As he enters the area he stops and takes in his surroundings. Agents and Doctors move all around him in the white tiled and painted area. Scanning the area he find the surgery room. Walking over to the glass window Clint peers in and sees the poor girl on the table. It seemed like the doctors were done and were just sewing her up. Sighing Clint walked to the waiting area and sat down in a ugly green chair that hurt ones bum after a while of sitting in it.

*********
Lex Moore blinked her blurry eyes and slowly opened them. Squinting she grimaced as she impatiently waited for them to adjust to the brightly lit room.
As they adjusted Lex looked around not recognizing her surrounds. Going to sit up she seethes in pain "ah" she looks towards her shoulder that was wrapped up.
Remembering what happened a couple hours ago, Lex closed her eyes and tried not to panic. She just had surgery, and she had no idea where she was.
"Did I get kidnapped?" Lex asks her self quietly.
"No you did not Miss." A man with an eyepatch said scarfing Lex making her jump which made her wince with pain.

Turning red Lex looked away. "Then where am I?" She asked feeling anxious. "And What did you say our name was?" Lex added knowing damn well he didn't say his name.
"Director Fury." Fury smirked. "And you are in a safe government location. "What why?" Lex asked again, she couldn't help but ask questions.

"According to witnesses you were engaging with a criminal." Fury said simply making Lex's eyes go wide.
"W-What?" Lex stammered.  Her breathing started to go ragged. She didn't do anything wrong. Hell she didn't even know that guy was a criminal, explains why he barreled her over.
"Sir I don't know him! I only talked to him to yell at him for running me over and making hit my head, and for breaking my 2,000 dollar camera!!" Lex raised her voice in panic. There was no way in hell was she getting in trouble with the government for something she never even did.

"I don't know who your so called witnesses are but I'm not a criminal and if anyone's the damn criminal it's you for kidnapping to god knows where!! Plus I got shot by which I'm guessing one of your men! Don't you know I have a pet to get home to! A poor defenseless animal because your to daft to realize I'm not the criminal!!" Lex let loose on Director Fury. She immediately shut her mouth when she saw him raise his eyebrows at her.

"You have fire I'll give you that." Fury laughed slightly at the girl. "But before you can go home to your pets I'm going to need your name."
Smiling Lex's eyes lit up, "I get to go home?!" She asked stupidly even though she heard the man.
"I just need your name."
"Names Lex, Lex Moore. There I told you my name now can I go home?"

*******

After being discharged, Lex finally got to walk about the mysterious building which turned out to be a flying ship. As she walked down to the main control deck with Director Fury, Lex looked out the bug windows and saw nothing but sky.
"Whoah!"
"That's what I said to when I first saw this view too." A voice said startling Lex causing her to wince.
"You must be the kid who got shot." The lady with red hair said with a smirk. Glancing around nervously Lex awkwardly smiled. "Uh yeah that's me I guess."
"Names Natasha Romanoff, you?" Natasha asked studying the girl.
"Lex Moore and uh when can I go home, Director Fury said once I tell him my name and since now you and him know my name I'd like to home and feed my pet please." Lex rambled. Nat shook her head with a smile.
"Well before you go there's someone who would like to apologize." Nat gently grabbed the nine injured arm of Lex and carefully yet firmly dragged her along until the were in a total new room. It was the science lab where most of them usually hung out well because there usually was a problem.

In the room stood all the Avengers and Lex's eyes widened as her jaw dropped. Turning red she remembered her childhood bedroom had pictures of young Tony Stark and as she looked him in the eye Lex almost wished whatever shot her, hit her in the head.
"Oh no.." Lex whispered to herself.

"Lex Moore, meet Earths mightiest heroes, heroes meet Lex Moore." Natasha introduced each other.
"Uh hi?" Lex did a small wave with her non-injured arm. Raising a hand a tall dark man waved back only to have it slapped down Natasha.

"Um so which one of you shot me?" Lex asked breaking the silence. Stepping forward was a a tall man. Scanning over his facial features, Lex noticed he had been crying by how glossy his eyes were and the bags under them. She also noticed how blue they were. She almost got lost in them, almost.

"Clint Barton, and I'm so sorry for that I -uh never usually miss, so sorry for that. Will you be able to move it?" The man Clint said looking into Lex's eyes with the most sincere.
"Lex Moore as you already know, and all's forgiven and doc said yeah I should be okay just some physical therapy of course." Lex gave Clint a small smile which he returned.
"But thanks for trying to get that bad guy, who would have known what would have happened if you didn't shoot me, and what did you shoot me with?"
"An arrow." All of the Avengers say at the same time slightly scarring Lex.
"What do you mean what would have happened." Clint asked ignoring his partners.

"I confronted the guy 'cause he broke very expensive camera and made my head kiss the pavement with blood."
"I'm sorry for that, it's my fault." Clint said, guilt flooding his emotions for what seems like the hundred time.
"Why is it your fault?" Lex questioned very confused on why it was Clint's fault.

"I'm got a civilian hurt, that's not what superheroes do."
"I think if it's anyone's so called fault it's mine, I literally went up to the dude."
"No Lex you don't understand, I never miss my targets!"
"Who says I wasn't your target."
