We drove to the Bell MTS Place, where it was relatively quiet; the calm before the storm. I knew how hockey fans were, especially Canadian fans. I got out of the car and was directed to the visitor's photography office. I dropped off my stuff, changed into something more comfortable, and walked over to the Jet's locker room. I missed some of my friends who were on the Jets, in particular, Steve Mason. We were incredibly close when he played for the Flyers, but after he signed with the Jets we grew apart. This was the first time I saw him since last hockey season. I knocked on the door and it swung open to reveal the Jets.
"Hey guys" I said while walking in, trying not to be awkward.
All of the guys turned towards me before squishing me in a group hug.
"Cant... breathe..." I managed to sputter out
The team released me and I started talking to Blake Wheeler, the captain.
"How ya doing?" I asked him with a huge smile
"Pretty good, can't wait for the game today."
We caught up for a few minutes until suddenly I was lifted up into the air.
"Put me down" I squealed and was dropped almost on command.
I turned around and saw Steve Mason. I hugged him and couldn't help but smile.
"Well hello to you too" he chuckled and eventually hugged me back
"I've missed you" I said, not letting go of him.
"I've missed you too." He replied and lifted me up. "How's Philly?"
"Pretty good. I'm lonely without you though." I wrapped my legs around him to make sure I don't fall, "How's Winnipeg?"
"It's good, I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss some parts of Philly though."
"Of course, Philly is amazing, along with Winnipeg of course" I added "Is your number still the same?"
"Yeah it is, we need to go back to talking again"
We kept catching each other up on our lives until I had to go.

I got my I.D. and camera from the office and headed out to the ice. The teams are warming up so I started taking pictures. I looked to center ice to see Mason and Neuvirth talking. I couldn't help but smile and take a picture. Both of them were in goal tonight and it was hard seeing them have to play against each other. The game was tied 2-2 and eventually led to overtime. It was still tied after OT, so the shootout was next. The Flyers won 3-2. It was bittersweet, I'm not gonna lie. It was good to see the Flyers win, but I hated to see Mason lose. I texted him letting him know he did a great job in net and I walked to the locker room. The guys were in the middle of doing their little press interview things when I entered. I snuck past everything, grabbed a water, and waited for the press to leave. After they did, I let the guys get changed before bothering any of them. The doors opened, and allowed the family members to come in. I see the usual wives and girlfriends who come in, but there's a family of four I don't recognize. They walked over to Nolan and I slowly made the connection. I completely forgot he was from Winnipeg. His family came to visit him. I walked over to Shayne, Ivan and Travis and we started talking. They asked when I was going to join them on the ice again and I hoped it would be soon. We kept talking when I heard my name. I looked around the room to see Nolan waving me over. I walked over nervously, trying not to make a fool of myself.
"This is my girlfriend, Reagan. Reagan, this is my mom, dad, and my sisters Maddie and Aimee."
"It's a pleasure to meet you guys." I smiled and shook their hands.
"You too, Nolan constantly texted us for girl advice." Maddie chuckled and pointed to herself and her sister.
Nolan and his family started talking for a little while, and I'd chime in once or twice. His parents insisted on me calling them by their first names.
"Regs, c'mon we gotta go." My brother called me over
I turned to the family. "Looks like I gotta go, I'll catch up with you later." I said
"Well, we're gonna be in Winnipeg for a little while if you want me to take you to our house tomorrow" Nolan suggested
"We'd love to have you Reagan." Carrie added
"Thank you so much" I smiled and followed my brother to the bus after I got my things from the office.
We arrived at the hotel and I went to my room. I took a shower and got changed into sweatpants and a hoodie when my phone went off. I checked to see a text from Nolan.
