Introductions #2

Swinging through the city, Peter reached the burning building; the Avengers where of course already there. Iron Man was scanning the building to see if there were any people trapped and what had coursed the fire, Captain America was helping civilians away from the building and checking them for injuries with the help of Black Widow, Winter Soldier and Hawkeye. "Whoa" the kid had never see them all at one time, or at all half of the time; he snapped out of his shock when he heard Iron Man yell "there's someone trapped on the top floor!!". He saw all of the Avengers run over to the building but stop, throwing up their arms to protect themselves; the fire was getting out of control "there's no way in!!" Cap exclaimed; Peter looked around before spotting a very small window, it was covered in fallen brinks but if he was quick, he could get in. "For you guys, but I can!!" he stated as he swung down to when they were "what the...who the hell are you??" Hawkeye asked, eyes wide in shock and confusion "introductions later, there's a window I can swing through" he stated, pointing to the opening. "No way, it's too dangerous!!" Black Widow exclaimed, Peter raised an annoyed brow "more dangerous than where the trapped civilian is??" no reply "that's what I though". Before they could say anything, the new superhero ran to the building and used his webs to jump through the window, landing on the floor; the fire was everywhere and smoke was all he could breathe. "Christ!!" he coughed before running though the second floor of the house, yelling "hello!! Anyone up here!?" he knew there was but didn't know heir name. After a few minutes, Peter finally found the civilian; it was a young woman sat curled up in the corner of what used to be a bedroom "hey!!" Peter yelled to get her attention; it did "wha...Spiderman?!". The kid ran towards her "yeah, that's me" he stated "come on, let's get you out of here!!" he carefully picked the woman up and ran back to where the window was...or where he thought it was "crap!!" he was lost. The smoke was too thick and the only other thing he could see was fire; everywhere he turned - fire and smoke. Suddenly, a part of the roof collapsed; they only just missed it. "We'll have to go to the roof!!" he yelled before wrapping his arm tighter around the woman before using the other to release a web and pull them out of the house and onto the burning roof "oh no". Running towards the roof, Peter didn't stop and jumped off; the woman closed her eyes and held onto him like her life depended on it....it did. Using his free arm again, he reacted a web which attached itself to another tall building; he swung around the crowd and landed near a paramedic. Peter lay the woman down on the stretcher; she grabbed his arm "th...thank you...Spiderman" she said...or at least tried to. The teen smiled under his mask, thanks to his super sensitive hearing, he was able to hear her "just doing what I do" and with that, she was taken away.

Turning around, people clapped the kid on his shoulder and back, cheering and praising him; it was a strange yet welcoming thing Peter felt. Normally people would think and say Spiderman needed to keep out of the polices way. Walking over to where the Avengers where, they were still helping people stay away from the fire and get medical attention; they all smiled at him. "Nice work, you saved that woman's life" Black Widow stated, folding her arms "thanks, but I was just doing what I do" Peter stated before coughing a bit; he really needed to get some more air in his lungs and the mask wasn't helping "maybe you should get some medical attention too, you were in the fire for a while" Captain America suggested but the kid shook his head "nah, I'll be fine". Before anything else could be said on the matter, Iron Man spoke up "well, you clearly know who we are, but who are you?? A new wanna be superhero??" Winder Soldier elbowed the man with his human arm "don't be rude Tony, the guy saved the day just as much as us, even more" he stated, sticking up for the newbie "geez, calm down metal arm, I was just joking...mostly". Rolling his eyes but chuckling, Peter spoke up "the names Spiderman, have been for 6 months now so I am granted, I'm a newbie" he then added as he faced Bucky "and thanks" the man gave a small nod. "Spiderman huh?? Sure it shouldn't be Spider boy??" Hawkeye asked with a smirk "Hawkeye!!" Captain hissed, not liking that they were being rude the new superhero who had just saved someone's life; Tony rolled his eyes "come on Cap, he has a point". They all turned to Spiderman who had his arms folded over his chest "really?? Make fun of the new guy??" he asked with a hint of amusement "I'm old enough to do what I do...sort of" he paused "anyway, I better get going, see  you around Avengers" and with that, before anyone could protect, the kid made a web and swung away. The other watched and wondered two things; who was under the mask?? And how old were they?? "Come on team, let's help put the fire out and people back to their homes" Steve stated as they all turned back to the house and crowd "if we're quick we can be done within an hour and get back to the tower and Peter" Bucky added.

With Spiderman, he swung as quick as he could though the city; he wanted to get back to the tower before the Avengers. Within ten minutes, he reached the ally way where his things were; the kid dressed back into his normal clothes before hiding his suit at the bottom of his bag. Peter re-entered the building and lift; JARVIS greeted him like always. "Hey JARVIS, where bout's is Dr Ban...I mean Bruce??" the teen asked; seconds later "he is in his lab Peter, would you like to go straight to him??" it asked "no thanks, just wondering, could you take me to the guest room please??" he asked "of course Peter". Within a minute, they reached the room and Peter got out, thanking JARVIS as he did; he made a B-line for the bathroom and immediately took a shower. He needed to remove the scent of smoke from his body and hair; it took en minutes before he could get out and dry off. Changing to some spare pj's Tony had in one of the draws, Peter towel dried his hair, gave it a quick brush and then made his way down to the common room to do some work on his laptop. A science fair was coming up in two months at his school, so he was getting things ready for his project; he had already thought of what he was going to do, he just needed to work out what materials he was going to use, how he was going to get them, when he was going to make it and how he was going to make it. Sitting down on one of the sofas, the kid played some music through his head phones and got to work.

An hour passed when the lift opened, revealing all of the Avengers in their own comfy clothes; they spotted the teen on the sofa, his eyes focused on the screen of his laptop. Seeing that the kid hadn't noticed their arrival, a prank popped into Clint's head; he motioned for the other o stay quiet as he tiptoes over to the side of the sofa. Just as the man was about to attempt scaring the kid into next week, Peter - without looking away from his work or taking his head phones off - spoke with a straight face "hi Clint". The mans eyes widened for a moment as the rest of his team burst into laughter "wha...how!? I was as quiet as could be!!!" he exclaimed; Peter chuckled and grinned as he turned to them "not really, you breathe pretty loud" was his only reply. Turning to the others, the teen spoke "how was the mission??" he asked earning smiles, they all joined him on the sofas "a success, we met a new superhero" Natasha explained, Steve butting in" yeah, Tony and Clint decided to make fun of him" he really wasn't impressed. Tony rolled his eyes "you've got to admit, he sounded really young!!" he exclaimed as Bruce also entered the room "who sounded really young now?? Peter??" he asked. The doctor sat down as they all explained what had happened; Bruce and Peter listened carefully. "Well, should we let Fury know about him??" he asked; Nat spoke up "he probably does, the man knows practically everything". Peter might have to think about that, he knew who this Fury guy was. The man in charge of S.H.I.E.L.D. "Well, it's been lovely, but I'm heading to bed" Peter stated as he clothes his laptop lid and stood up with a stretch "already?? It's only..." Tony looked to his phone for the time "12:45 at night, okay fair point" they had no idea it was that late. "We should all get some rest" Steve stated as he too stood; the other agreed except Tony "I'll be in the lap, just call in you need anything kid". Everyone made their way to their own rooms after saying good night. As soon as his head hit the pillow, Peter was out like a light with a smile.
