For the Sake of Survival [Sea Emperor x Reader]

Chapter 2: Warp Gate

So as some of you noticed - I refer to Reader as "he/she" and "they"

As for the Sea Emperor it's just "they". I hope it doesn't confus y'all.

(Y/n) held an ion crystal in their outstretched hands and it lay there just as heavy as a common rock. Yet in the water spotlight it glittered as the sun ; the brilliant green hue was so vivid it was dazzling that such crystal held so much power. After few moments of this fuel crystal floating in the hands, (L/n) let it be pulled into the small box of the Precursor Portal. Green lights flashed within the mechanism followed by a deep boosting sound of energy. The warp gate and The Incubator Device should function now.

The Majestic Leviathan was 'sitting' nearby, their long tentacles splattered in different directions. Following the tiny human's gaze, The Sea Emperor tilted their head closer into the Sand Covered Portal. A loud screech emitted from them. The ground shakes with each growl and the Leviathan's blow of water is loud and rasping. The strength of its breath is becoming thicker and the air exhaled from it's lungs makes the water swirl in a small hurricane, clearing the path of the Precursor Portal from sand.

"woAH! Amazing!" - (y/n) stood aside and watched in awe. The Portal is now fully working. 'now that's one thing done, we can check the incubators.'

'​The others had ways of giving passage to the outside - I asked them for this. But they could not hear.'

The Sea Emperor Leviathan gladly turned their head towards the (gender) survivor, as they spoke. The human had her/his eyes widen and lips stretched upwards - a smile. Hope and trust bloomed within the ancient creature, indicating that , finally , there is an end to this misery. And this adorable human was the key. Leaning down closer, the Emperor locked eyes with (Y/n).

'​If you can hear - you can help.​'

It's blinding shine of four eyes shot through them , making (L/n)'s heart clench in advance. The cyan blue color of the these pupiless orbs called him/her as a mermaid to it's sailor. Grasping their gloved hands in confidence, the Human noded.

"Yes. I am here to help you. To set you free... and..." - (Y/n) spoke before sadly glancing at the incubator.

"​Unlike other facilities, scans indicate this location supports a diverse ecosystem. Explanation unclear.​"

'​You are contaminated.​'

(Y/n) flinched, pulling their hands together closer in a defensive manner. The Sea Emperor sensed their unease and fear - the Human survivor was indeed infected with the Kharaa Bacterium.

'​You met a hurtful fate, much familiar to Them.​'

"Yes... I am infected. And it's getting worse. But I can't give up now, not after all I've been through."

The Sea Emperor Leviathan silently observed the Human named (Y/n) as they could feel certain emotions flying within her/his mind. Perhaps the Human was covered in her/his (fav-color) swimsuit and equipments, but The Emperor realized that there was a reason why they were protective over covering their four limbs. The Alien Emperor blinked.

'​If you can help - I will tell what the other wanted so badly. I will take my move. I make a sacrifice... of trust. You have what you need to coerce or be kind. The others tried to take their prize - but failed. I will give yours willingly.​'

Again, this huge creature was speaking in puzzles, but (Y/n) could now decipher it. Her/his (body-type) figure delicately floated in water as excitement rushed through (L/n). Happiness flared in their (eye-color) eyes and for the first time in a while it began to in the Sea Emperor as well. Even if the world around them started collapsing, their heart would not get crushed as long as they helped each other. There is a chance. And The Sea Emperor, the only creature that knew the truth, trusts her/him.

"Oh thank you, dearly! I am grateful, and I will try to not disappoint you." - (Y/n) spoke with enthusiasm

"But I must inform you, it might take some time for me to... um, to research everything. I'll require lots of information in order to figure out a hatching enzyme for ... for your children... therefore, I'll be going back and forth very often. Though, I greatly apologize for disturbing you with my presence. I will-"

Soft purr emitted from the Leviathan as they slowly blinked in confusion. The human is certainly amusing - their mood immediately changed into a cheerful tone and now they were mumbling to themselves. Not that it bothered the Sea Emperor, they found it rather charming.

'​Do not fret, you shall take your time. I wish to aid you.​'

"Oh, alright! I will proceed, I'll be staying close by here." - (L/n) had an idea of bringing some of her/his resources from the cyclop into this Primary Research Facility. They have labs, equipments , ion crystals and plenty of rooms up there - so it will be more comfortable to stay near by the Aquarium.

'I wish you luck my friend. Don't be a stranger.'

Thus, bowing to take their leave, (Y/n) hesitantly placed her/his arm one last time before smiling with sympathy. The Sea Emperor silently contemplated.

A loud splash came in from the water. (Y/n) rose up, getting out of the Aquarium back to the alien facility while panting and breathing heavily. Every muscle in their body cried for a break as their stomach was clenching with anxiety. The Human Survivor - (L/n) quickly removed the glass helmet off their face , and aimlessly tossed it next to them. (Y/n) just layed down on the cold metal floor of the facility, soaked in water.

"Oh goodness... I'm not dead."

(Y/n) finally knows what to do in order to survive and it seems that the Sea Emperor Leviathan trust them with this important mission. But what actually mattered is that the Emperor Leviathan was a pacifist creature, and didn't devour her/him.

The Aquarium was peaceful and very quiet - comparing to the hell that was outside of the Precursors' Primary Facility. Literal hell - The active Lava zone. Also a giant Dragon Leviathan roaring from the outside. But that didn't matter - the 26 year old (gender) had a long way of work ahead of them.

"I can do this... I will save this planet." - (Y/n) said to nobody. The only answer was the distant roar of the Dragon Leviathan.

"Shut up!"

Don't worry, I won't make the Reader craft the hatching enzymes immediately, because that

will be waaay too fats to end it all. Everything is planned out :)
