Winston's POV:

I put the finishing touches on the small project I had been working on before emailing the final product to my boss. Beside me, Snowflake nibbled on a small carrot stick, stopping every few seconds to drink some water. She had grown substantially over the course of weeks and no longer needed a balloon to be tied to her little feet, but I still liked to keep an eye on her whenever I was home.

The sound of a FaceTime call coming through on my laptop pulled me away from admiring my bunny. I smiled a bit when I saw that it was Jonathan calling. After spending almost the entire weekend with him, you'd think that I'd get tired of seeing his handsome face, but that wasn't the case at all. If anything, I wanted to see him more, which is why I didn't waste any time answering his call.

"Hey, sweetness." He said with a soft smile, making me swoon.

"Hey, handsome." I replied, giving him a small smile of my own. Seconds later, I noticed that his smile had faltered slightly. "What's wrong?"

Jonathan's eyes widened a bit before he began to laugh lowly. "Why do you suspect something is wrong?"

"You've got frown lines."

"How can you even see that?"

"Good eyes." I joked, pointing to my glasses. "Seriously, baby, what's on your mind?"

I watched as Jonathan thought over my question, staring at his computer before glancing at something on his desk. After some time, he sighed before looking at me again.

"I got a note today."

"A note?" I frowned. "Like some letter? Does it have to do with Amanda and the twins?"

"No, it wasn't from Amanda. It was just a piece of paper with one phrase written on it." He chuckled humorlessly. "Stay away from Winston, or else."

"You're lying!"

"I wish I was. It's right here." Jonathan said before holding up the note for me to see. My frown returned as I looked the simple phrase over. Technically, this was a threat, and a major part of me wanted him to report it to the police.

"Any idea where it came from?"

"No. It came in a blank envelope. If I had to make a bet though, my money would be on Ellis" Jonathan replied, causing me to pause in shock.

"I almost forgot about him! He wasn't at last month's group meeting either." I voiced after giving it a quick thought. "Jonathan we have to go to the police."

"I don't think this needs law enforcers, Win. Ellis is just a child scorned and I'm not going to give him the attention he's so desperately seeking."

"But what if he plans to hurt you?" I asked worriedly.

"I can take him." He answered cheekily, making me laugh. I rolled my eyes as I shook my head at him, not agreeing with his decision, but knowing that he wasn't going to change his mind. Jonathan was as stubborn as they came.

"Okay. Will you at least keep a look out for anything suspicious?"

"Will do, baby."
