The dark side of the moon:

I think we're all our own moon,

with an unseen dark side.

That no one ever beholds,

because we do our best to hide.

Miles of a glacier:

And people are all melting glaciers,

yet few bother looking deep.

See there's a lot hidden underwater,

that no one ever sees.

Don't judge a book:

And I think we're all walking books,

yet most go through life unread.

Because their covers appear misleading,

until the day their words finally bleed red.

It's dark inside:

And I honestly believe we all have demons,

some just happen to be more tame.

Or maybe you're just stronger than me,

in which case I wish our victories were the same.

Glass half empty:

See there are times this glass is half empty,

and I believe there isn't much inside.

When actually it's half full,

it all depends on my current state of mind.

Darkness versus light:

You know, they say with the lighting of a candle,

you chase the darkness away,

But they don't ever mention how it causes a shadow,

that leads so many innocents astray.

My imagination:

And now I'm mulling over the irony,

that so many people say to chase your dreams.

Yet eventually everyone must wake up,

and face reality.

Darkness and stars:

Away from that, you know what's beautiful?

The moon and the stars.

See, they don't appear into our sights,

until times turn truly dark.

A light admist shadows:

So maybe the best of us are constellations,

I know you'd see the real me.

If you stood by my side during my darkest hours,

cause that's when my inner sun burns free.

A bit of food:

Just a bit of food for thought,

on another sleepless night.

You know it's strange what goes on in my head,

when I turn off the bedroom light.
