I fell for the nighttime,

because of the moon.

which always shone so brightly,

despite all the gloom.

Maybe it brought me hope,

surrounded by the stars.

that some things will always glow,

no matter how far.

I fell for the nighttime,

because of the silence.

which cradled my deepest thoughts,

and made life seem timeless.

Maybe it brought relief,

from the world of constant pain.

that some things can be at peace,

in this world of the insane.

I fell for the nighttime,

because of the dark.

which wrapped me in shadows,

and kept my mind from falling apart.

Maybe it helped me live,

showing me that I wasn't the only one.

yet darling, despite the moon, silence, and dark,

I have begun to miss the sun.
