broken between thunder and lightning,

for one could make a clash.

but bringing light to a darkened sky,

would be a worthwhile flash.

broken between dawn and sunset,

for one could aid the sun.

but the handing darkness the final stage,

is a task yet undone.

broken between life and death,

for life happens only once.

but the unknown lies beyond my step,

and death is in these lungs.

broken between me and you,

for how could i leave?

i know you're somewhere out there,

despite what i cannot see.

broken between yes and no,

for who am i?

wishing that i could be a better follower,

but i can naught but try.

a plea,

softspoken

because Lord?

this soul,

is so broken.
