9: Bakada

Your POV

I sighed as I walked around the gym trying to get last minute things done. Today is the last day of preliminaries and I'm a little worried because we are going up against Shiratorizawa today. I know Tooru is probably shaking right now but not anything I can do about it. I double checked and made sure every water bottle was full and all the boys needs were met, then walked over to Hajime.

"Is she here?" Hajime asked me. I nodded while pointing behind me with my head. Hajime looked over my shoulder and grimaced. I laughed at his expression. I suddenly felt an arm around my shoulder and I looked up to see it belonged to Takahiro.

"You're so much better than that Koi fish. I don't know what's up with Oikawa." Takahiro said.

Issei popped out of nowhere and said "I heard Koi fish. Please tell me someone pointed out that girl's name." We all laughed and talked for a little longer. 

"Heyooo!" We heard Tooru's voice and ceased our talking to look over at him and the girl under his arm.

"What do you want Shittykawa?" Hajime asked him.

"Rude Iwa-Chan! I just wanted to talk with you guys! Has everyone met my girlfriend?" Tooru asked.

"Sadly." I heard Takahiro mumbled causing me to stifle a laugh. I'm guessing Nakada heard because she glared at him which made the whole situation funnier making me have to put a hand over my mouth to keep my laughter silent.

"What's so funny (F/N)?" Nakada asked me.

I scoffed. "I'm sorry, but I don't recall giving you permission to use my first name." I said while crossing my arms and raising a brow at her.

"Everyone calls you by your first name." Tooru said.

"Yea, after I give them permission. But I didn't give any to your little girlfriend." I said with a smirk.

"Damn (F/N)! Get her!" I heard Issei, causing me to chuckle. 

"Can you please calm down (F/N)-Chan. I don't know why you're being like this." Tooru said.

"It's obvious why she is 'like this' Tooru. She likes you." Nakada said.

"Hey Bakada. I'm sorry to say not every girl is after him. Good luck with the fangirls. Hope they don't get to you." I said with a smile. I heard chuckles come from the three boys I've been standing with for a while. She scoffed and walked off. 

Tooru looked at me with a disapproving look and said "I don't know why you're acting like this (F/N)-Chan, but you need to calm down." I rolled my eyes after he chased after the girl.

"Bakada." Takahiro mumbled causing us all to break out into laughter.

"How the hell did you think of that?" Hajime asked when our laughter calmed down.

"I have no idea. I don't even remember most of the conversation, I just said shit as it went." I answered.

"Looks like both her first and last name could be made into a joke." Issei said.

"At least you didn't call her Koi fish to her face." Takahiro said causing us to break into another fit of laughter. 

Oikawa's POV

I looked over to where my friends were standing and laughing together, then looked at my long time crush with Makki's hand that has been hanging around her shoulder for such a long time she probably forgot. She tends to forget stuff like that a whole lot. Why am I doing this? Why am I here with a girl I have no feelings for whatsoever when the girl I have loved and adored for so long is no so far away from me?

"Tooru? Are you listening?" I heard Koi's voice. 

"Hm? Yea of course." I said.

"5 minutes boys!" I heard (F/N)'s voice yell.

Your POV

We lost against Shiratorizawa, as expected. All the boys got on the bus, dejected. I sat next to my brother again and held him close to me. 

"This isn't the end Haji. Just remember that." I said to him.

"I know. But it doesn't change that fact we lost." He replied.

"It doesn't. But that means we have room for a whole lot of improvement. Just work hard and it will pay off." I said. Hajime just nodded. "Give me a second." I said while lightly getting the boy off me. I walked over to where the coaches were seated and asked "Can I say a few things to the boys?"

"If you think it can bring their moods up a little, then be my guest." Coach Mizoguchi told me. I stood up in front of the bus.

"Boys! I wanna say a few things. You all put up a great fight today, but who won was out of our grasp. But this isn't the end, all we need is practice, soon, we will be able to defeat Shiratorizawa. I know it and you all sure as hell know it. You guys have made me so proud today and I couldn't ask for a better team. Now continue being the amazing people and amazing players you are and show me what the Aoba Johsai Volleyball Club is all about!" I said, ending with a smile.

"You're too sweet (F/N)." I heard Issei say with a smile.

"Only to you boys. You all hold a special place in my heart." I said with a smile.

"Thank you (F/N)-Senpai!" I heard the 1st and 2nd years scream in usion. Causing me to grow shy and turn red.

"Welcome." I mumbled while sitting back down.

"Oh so now you go shy after that speech." I heard Takahiro say. I could hear the smirk in his voice.

"Shut up!" I yelled while covering my face.

"You're so cute (F/N)-Chan." I heard Tooru say. I looked over at him and glared, but he just smiled. 

Coach Irihata's POV

"She's so quick to lift the spirits of these boys." I said.

"I know, what would we do without her." Mizoguchi repiled.

"Well we are going to have to figure it out. She's graduating soon." I said.

"Yea but it's mostly our 3rd years who depend on her. They graduate with her." Mizoguchi pointed out.

"True. But the whole team relies on her still." I said while looking over at the girl who was sitting next to her brother and covering her face in her hands while she got teased by the boys surrounding her seat. "She's the heart of this team and isn't even officially part of it." I added.
