Chapter 25

Ayame turned, leaping back to dodge a kunai. She looked down, gasping at the sight of a paper bomb attacked.

It exploded, throwing Ayame back.

Her attacker leapt infront of her, crossing her arms.

"You?" Ayame snapped.

Iya glared down at her, crossing her arms.

"You don't understand how happy I am to see you." Iya laughed. Ayame looked up at her sound headband, balling her fist.

"You goddamn traitor!" She yelled, swiping her foot out. Iya leapt back, Ayame standing up slowly.

"You were sent on a similar mission as me, I see?" Ayame cocked her head. "Infiltration? Gathering intel?"

"None of your concern."

"Eh." Ayame shrugged. "Won't matter, I'll take you down."

"Lord Orochimaru sent me on a year-long infiltration mission where I was able to gather intel from one of your strongest shinobi without anyone suspecting a thing. You think I'll let you take me down?"

Ayame blinked slowly, Iya taking the opportunity to shoot forward. They slammed their forearms together, water shooting up from their chakra power.

Ayame leapt back, Iya placing her hands together. As Ayame landed on the water, a water clone formed and grabbed her feet. Iya attempted to run and kick her but Ayame blocked her. The water clone's body liquified and a water bubble crept up her skin and formed around her. Ayame choked desperately as water covered her mouth, forming hand signs.

Her body reverted to flames, thick steam forming in response. She landed on the water, panting softly. Iya smirked, running forward.

Ayame turned, gasping as a kunai flew past her ear. She stepped back, a foot slamming into her back and knocking her into an elbow that flew into her throat. Ayame was repeatedly knocked into blows, a hint ferret leaping up from the steam. It screeched, Ayame leaping back as it landed on the water.

She skated back, panting. Iya leapt out the water, Ayame staring up at her in the air. She blocked a kick, inhaling.

"Fire style: fireball jutsu!" She spewed out flames. Iya sunk into the water, the ferret leaping through the flames.

Ayame drew her katana and ducked. The ferret landed behind her as Iya leapt from the water.

Her kunai clashed with Ayame's katana, the two shaking in effort. Ayame pushed down and turned, kicking Iya back. She smirked in success as she hit a tree near the river bank.

Iya stood, wiping the bark from her back. She shot forward, Ayame knocked her sword into the air. She grabbed her bow from her back, slapping Iya away. The ferret leapt on Ayame who sunk underwater.

She landed at the bottom of the water, looking down to see Iya's face smirk in the mud at the bottom.

Iya inhaled the water, shooting out bullets. Ayame was shot out the water, landing on the surface. She panted, glaring up at Iya.

"You won't win!" Iya laughed. Ayame stood, knocking her hair over her shoulders.

Iya leapt forward, Ayame flipping back. Her paper bombs floated on the top of the water, exploding as Iya leapt atop of them. Ayame balanced on the waves, squatting down.

As she straightened, a sudden mist fell over them and she turned, drawing her katana. She was plummeted in hits once again until Iya finally kicked her chin and sent her flying back.

Iya laughed and bolted for Ayame, tearing her katana out the water. She leapt up, bringing the sword down in Ayame's throat just for her body to poof. Through cloud, a foot connected with Iya's cheek and sent her underwater.

She looked down, seeing the faces of two jaguar. They smirked and roared, Iya immediately shooting up and out the water.

Ayame tossed herself up into the air, clones spread out on the water and throwing their selves up to intercept Iya in the air.

One slammed their foot into her side, another punching her face until Ayame personally slammed her fist over her head. Iya shot into the water, slowly crawling out.

"What the hell?!" She roared, blood falling above her eye. "You were a clone all along?"

Ayame crossed her arms, the two jaguars leaping out the water behind her.

"Nikki and Nikko at your service!" Nikki purred. Iya ran forward, easily kicked to the side by Ayame. A clone was behind her and immediately lashed out for Ayame but her arms blocked the attack. She locked their hands together, forming a sign. Iya pulled back, attempting to punch her as Ayame formed another sign.

She flipped back, leaping up.

"Majestic flame!" She spewed a thin stream of fire, expanding into a blanket of flames over the water. Iya countered it with a water jutsu. Vapor hit the air and Ayame took the opportunity to blindly strike her back. Her punch left a scorch on Iya's back as she flew toward.

Iya drew her kunai, Ayame's katana clashing with it. The kunai knocked the sword away and Ayame drew a kunai, the katana flipping into the air along with Ayame's kunai. As Iya attempted to lash out, Ayame teleported to the sword, flipping in the air to kick the kunai down and slice her cheek. Iya knelt down.

Iya shakingly stood, Nikki and Nikko landing on her back and pinning her down. She looked up in frustration, gritting her teeth as Ayame walked forward.

Her sharingan locked on Iya, trapping her in the genjutsu reality with the Cheshire Cat.

Ayame walked forward and grabbed her stiffened body, spreading her across Nikko and Nikki.

As they stepped off the water, Kakashi ran forward. He stared at Ayame than Iya, rage taking over his normally blank face.

"What did you do?!" He ran forward, the twins stepping back.

"Kakashi- Iya was a sound ninja, she wasn't really in love with you!" She laughed, her face freezing.

Kakashi tore her away from the jaguars as they poofed, Iya's eyes slowly opening.

"Kakashi?" She whispered, her eyes widening. She suddenly hugged them, sobbing softly.

"Kakashi!" She cried. "She tried to kill me. I-I tried but-"

"Shh." Kakashi set her down, Ayame stepping back.

"Kakashi, what are you doing? Kakashi." He walked closer. "Kakashi!"

His clone wrapped his arm around her neck and hit her pressure point, Ayame's eyes rolling to the back of her head.
