Mylene took ages to put all of her stuff away. I don’t even know why she had all those stuff out. All I had on my desk was a note book and a pencil. She had a binder, a folder, a bunch of papers and hand-outs, and a few pencils out. I took it upon myself to pull my phone out and check some messages to get out of boredom as I waited.

“Are you done yet, Mylene?” I whined. Her face turned into a grimace.

“Geez, Jay! Can you like have some patience?” she hissed.

“Well, why did you have all that crap out anyway? It’s not like Mrs. Ebrona gave us all of those hand-outs. She barely even gave us things to take notes on!” I complained.

“Oh hush up and stop whining. I’m almost done.”

Yeah, right! She still had a ton of crap on her desk. She made me want to smack her upside the head, but I wasn’t that mean.

“C’mon, bish! We’re gonna be late for history! You know how strict he is with attendance!” I threatened.

It was true though. Our school works on a point system of rewards. If you do something wrong or fail to follow instructions and obey rules, the punish you by giving negative points. If you do something good or something that helps your peers or some shít, they give you positive points. They introduced the system two years ago and at that time, people would go to extremes just to get a positive point.

Nowadays, it’s become a ‘thing’ to compete with others and see who gets the most negative points at the end of every month.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not good to have negative points because there are still some consequences. The idiots who join that stupid contest though doesn’t care much about the punishments. If you think about it though, the punishments really are pointless anyway.

Usually, the cut off the negative ten points. If you go lower than that, you become ineligible to participate in certain school activities — yes, it includes prom for seniors. They also exclude you from field trips and such, but many don’t believe that to be a big issue anyway.

I’m usually a good student, so I am on time for every single class. Today though, I just might break that record because of this fûcking tortoise. She’s hella slow! I was about to just up and leave her behind, but as soon as she sensed it, she went lightspeed and threw everything into her back pack.

“Ugh, I can’t believe I’m going to be late because of you!” I complained. She just smirked which irritated me even more.

Her face wasn’t usually annoying, but when she give her signature smirk, everything about it just pisses you off. Mylene wasn’t an unattractive girl. She stood at 5’5” with long black hair, and a narrow face. She had a slim body but she has a double chin. I don’t understand how that’s possible, but this girl eats a lot and she never gets fat! I wonder where everything goes.
