Genevieve walked into the hallway of Mystic Falls High School. Posters and banners were everywhere for the homecoming game and dance. She, like everyone else in the school, knew when the game was only she knew it better because she was going to attend it. She was a cheerleader, like her mother had been, so she was going to be there only to cheer on the game. In a few weeks, she would be out on the football field with her team and cheer her heart out.

Genevieve reached her locker and put in the combination. She opened the door and got out what books she needed for the day and hung the backpack on the hook inside the locker. Her locker was only decorated with pictures of her with her friends. Like one was her smiling like and idiot as she made a silly face with her best friends, Lizzie and Josie, beside her doing the same. She smiled at the picture before she stepped back and closed the locker. She heard her name being called and turned, there came Josie and Lizzie coming up to her. She waved them over and then leaned against the lockers.

"Hey guys."
She said when they got to her.

"Hey bestie."
Lizzie smiled to her and gave her a little hug.

"Heyoh."
Josie said after her sister and flicked Genevieve in the arm.
"Have you decided who you're going with to the dance?"

"No."
Genevieve rolled her eyes.

"You need to. Already the good ones are being picked off."
Lizzie commented, giggling.

"Oh I'm sure."
Genevieve shook her head.

"I heard Michael is going to ask you. He has a huge crush on you, you know?"
Josie commented with a smirk.

"Yes I know and I'm not going with him. Michael may be captain of the football team, he may be smart, but he's a jerk. He only wants me because I'm a cheerleader. If i wasn't, he wouldn't give me the time of day."
Genevieve rolled her eyes and looked at them.

"But he's hot."
Lizzie said, tilting her head as if confused.

"Doesn't matter. He won't be cute when he's calling me names because I didn't tell him he looked good that morning."
Genevieve said and then smiled.
"I don't need a guy to go to the dance with. I'll go with you guys."

"Actually...."
Josie said and bit her lip.

"Some guys already asked us and we agreed."
Lizzie finished.

Genevieve's face fell.
"So I'll be going by myself. Thanks guys."
She groaned and leaned her head against the lockers.

"You don't have to. You can go with me."
A voice said, someone sliding their way into conversation and beside her. So close that they touched shoulders.

Genevieve already knew who it was, didn't need to ask. It was Michael. Michael had blonde hair and brown eyes, freckles splattered across his face, muscular body from football. He was exactly what you pictured when you thought of all-american boy. He was hot, even Genevieve caught herself looking at times, but he wasn't nice. He was spoiled and very self centered. He only thought of himself. Genevieve looked over to him.

"Not happening, Michael. You already know this."
Genevieve straightened and started walking, Josie and Lizzie followed at her sides.

Michael jogged up and stood in front of her, stopping her path.
"Why not?"
He demanded.

"Because I don't want to."
She replied snippy. She looked up at him, frustration painted on her features.
"Now get out of my way. I've got to get to class."

"That's not a valid reason and I'm not moving till you give me real reason."
Michael said and crossed his arms.

"Fine."
Genevieve straightened her posture and looked him dead in the eyes.
"You're an ass. You're rude and self centered. You think only of yourself and I don't like that. You may be appealing to my eyes, but not to my heart."
She said to him bluntly then walked around him and walked directly to her class, ignoring him as he called her name.
