cosmic child

i hold,
in my hand, stars

a handful of tears the universe left behind.
little reminders of what the world used to be

at night,
in my dreams,
i see mirages of a life that could be mine,
written in the stars,
there i am
me and my memories.

in the night sky,
the constellations are my friends.
they're always there for me.
even when life is like a black hole.

i want to live up there,
in space.
my hair tangled in the planets.
my hand intertwined with the other.
i pray for my everlasting stay here,
a place where my story can be inscribed on the moon.

that way,
when you look up at the sky,
you can see my story,
once lived  on the lonely, cosmic latte-colored rock
