Ephemeral Fame

Ups and downs
Smiles and frowns
The people needed a crown.

A pedestal they put her on
Watching her don
Their crown of roses and thorn.

Paparazzi asking for a twirl
From fashion's new it girl
Her mind was a swirl.

Riches and fame to her name
Yet forever wishing for life to go back to being the same
This was the cost of the ephemeral fame.
