I Remember Poem and I Used To Poem

I remember when I made true friends 

I remember bonding over Pokemon

I remember playing pretend at recess

And listening to constant bickering

I remember laughing and making up secret handshakes 

I remember having midnight pizza during sleepovers

I remember night time tag and hide-and-seeks

Even though none of us were very athletic

I remember our unspoken promise to be there for each other 

But I know that things have changed, and nothing has ever been the same

I used to think that anything was possible 

But now I have lived a little longer 

I always was certain of my future

But I never factored in life

I once asked for everything I wanted

But now I want things that can't be bought

If I could wish for something 

I would wish that I could capture my happiest memories 

I never have been one to lose hope

But I might have to take a step back in order to step forward

I can't control my emotions

But I can feel them and wait for them to pass

I won't be able to change my past

But I might be able to enjoy my future

I used to think that all change was bad

But now I know that if I want to make a masterpiece, I need to keep tweaking until I get it right.
