The Dark Abyss

I like to say that you should be a muffin in a world of cupcakes. Sure, cupcakes are colorful and well-loved, but muffins are healthier, better for you than cupcakes. In the sea of blues and greens, there are those who have the dark abyss in their eyes. Where the only thing that rivals it is the pupil that no one can really see unless they look close enough. My eyes contain this dark abyss, most likely because the eyes are the window to the soul. This way, people can't see through me. Maybe I'm biased, or maybe it's just wishful thinking, but sometimes I think I can see a harsh softness in my eyes. Like a friend who doesn't want to hurt you but can't lie to you either. I think that my window is one-way with my soul always looking out into the world, wondering what it's like to be completely...complete. It's too bad that I don't know where the door is.
