Lost and Found
Her eyes look lost
Begging me not to go
How had we come to this place
One does not really know
Thirty-six hours ago I got a callShe wants to say good-bye
"Don't hang up," I plead
The line goes silent and I cry
She driving in her car
I do not know to where
I spring into action
Calling anyone who'd care
"She's called me too"
And fear grips my heart
This is the real deal
It's tearing me apart
I jump into my car
And drive to her place
Her partner answers the door
Tears streaming down her face
What happened? I ask
As she lets me in
She doesn't answer
Where to begin
My brother, my father
Are all close behind
They've called the police
They're trying to find
The one who is lost
In more ways than one
Oh, Mom. Sweet Mom,
What have you done?
She then calls again
One last time
We beg her partner
Keep her on the line
We know where she is now
Although she's far away
The police know where she is
"Get her in time," we pray
This story has a happy ending
But it still breaks my heart
For after thirty six hours
We are now apart
She's someplace now that can help
Although she looks at me with those eyes
Begging me not to leave her
I have no choice,
the doors close,
and a part of me dies.
