I need you to hear

What it is

I'm doing here.

I'm not looking for

Sympathy

Empathy or

Understanding.

I'm sharing my pain

Because I believe

There is something

To gain

We shelter and shield

Until we are healed.

We think to protect

But in fact we neglect

There are lessons

To be learned

Faith reaffirmed

In sharing this way

I hope someday

To make one person

Feel not so alone

We all feel alone

When the darkness

Presumes

To take us over

It tries to consume

But here I am

Completely exposed

Just so that maybe

One person knows

That in this life

anything goes

But no one walks alone.
