Brenda's POV

Friday, October 17, 2014

"Where do I begin?" I said. "Well,my full name is Brenda Pearl Jackson and I used to live in South Carolina. This is probably going to be really detailed by the way. Any who, half of my family have done or are doing drugs. Two of my cousins are in jail for it, and I probably won't see them until after I get married and have kids. My life has always been hell. I used to be fat and ugly, and everyone picked on me for it. Only one boy liked me, and all the others thought I was ugly or were just scared of me. And that boy was my first boyfriend. We had been dating for two years before we broke up. My ex best friend Chloe and me made a bet, and I said that she couldn't get any boy to ask me out and she said that she could, and if she did, I would have to say yes to him." Sam nodded and motioned for me to go on. "Well, he asked me out and we went out on a few dates and he asked me to be his girlfriend, we were in 8th grade then. We had a few fights, many where I would kick him in the balls." Sam laughed.

"Anyway, on my 16th birthday, I found out we were moving here and I had invited the two of them over to say goodbye. I walked into my room to see both of them half naked on my bed making out. They tried to make an excuse but I ain't stupid. I bitch slapped him and I punched her. Then, I literally pushed them down the stairs and pushed her out of the door. I kicked him in the balls and then I pushed him out of the door." Sam laughed again. I smiled.

"Then, this is before I got a boyfriend. In 2011, my grandma was diagnosed with skin cancer. It was called Melanoma and she was past the fourth stage, even though that's impossible. She was admitted into the hospital on Valentines day. She stayed in the hospital for a month, and everyone knew what was going to happen. They put her in hospice, that's where older people go, and young people, go when they die. At least, when the doctor's know what is going to happen. She died a week after being there. It broke Pa's heart but he stayed strong. And my daddy... He was a mean man when he drank but other than that he was a good and loving man. He stopped drinking when I was 13." I had tears in my eyes, and I felt some fall onto my cheeks. I wiped them away and continued. "He got into a really bad accident when I was 15 and he had brain damage. Both of his ankles were shattered, he lost a lot of blood and his whole face was broken. The doctor told us that he wasn't going to make it. He died that night. And it was all because of a drunk driver." I was full out crying now.

"Then, my uncle goes and burns my grandma's building up, which had almost all of her stuff in it. My grandpa almost died of a heart attack and my mom got breast cancer a few years ago and my cousin was shot and had to go to jail with bullets still in him. My other cousin went to jail and had to leave his kids with this Psycho bitch that's a prostitute and and a sorry no good grandma and an uncle that beats the crap out of them when they don't do the exact thing they say. And after my dad died, we found a little box in the closet. There was a note inside of it and it was like he knew he was about to die." I was sobbing now. Sam scooted over to me and hugged me. We stayed like that for a little while.

"I'm sorry about all of this." Sam said.

"Its *hiccup* not your *hiccup* fault."

"I know but still, I don't know what I would do if all of that happened to me. I probably wouldn't be here right now." Sam said.

"What do you mean by that?"

"I wouldn't have been able to stand all of that. I'd lose it. And you are a strong and beautiful girl, and I don't want you to change who you are. That's what I like about you." Sam said and we both blushed.

"Thanks Sam, I'm sorry I got your shirt wet." He looked down at his shirt.

"Eh,it'll dry."He said and I laughed.He smiled.
