Sam's POV

I was sitting at my desk, doing homework before bed when my mom and dad cam in. I heard a slight knock then they were sitting on my bed. I turned in my rolling chair and looked at them.

"Okay son, we know how you've been worrying about getting Brenda a gift for Christmas, so here you go." Dad said and handed me an envelope.

"What's this?" I asked.

"Just open it." I did as my mom asked. I almost had a heart attack when I saw all of those fifty dollar bills.

"That's 300 dollars." I put the money back in and gave it back to them.

"I can't take your money." I said shaking my head. My mom put it back in my hands.

"We want you to have it, Sam. Did we tell you how much your fathers first pay check was?" Mom asked. I shook my head.

"It was $1,523.51, Sam. So it won't hurt giving you 300 dollars of it." I set the envelope on my desk and hugged them.

"Thanks mama, dad. Y'all are the best." I let them go.

"Okay, you need to go to bed. We have a big day of shopping and decorating tomorrow!" I nodded.

"Okay, goodnight. Love y'all."

"Goodnight, love you too." They said and went to their bedroom. As soon as I heard their door close, I snuck out of my room and to the second floor, where Brenda's room, now Melody's too, was. I knocked and Melody opened the door. She rolled her eyes and let me in. The bathroom door was closed and the water was running, so Brenda was in the shower. I sat on Brenda's bed and Melody sat on hers. We were sitting facing each other.

"So..." I said.

"So..."

"Okay, I don't know what to get Brenda for Christmas and I'm freaking out! I mean, I'm her boyfriend and I-" She cut me off by throwing a pillow at me.

"Stop rambling, Samuel! You sound like Finn! Now, how much money do you have?" She asked

"Three hundred dollars."

"Damn that's a lot of money. Anyway, a few weeks ago, we went to the mall and we saw a beautiful necklace with matching earrings. Brenda fell in love with them as soon as she laid her eyes on them. It's a silver heart necklace and earring set that's 75 dollars. I saw them at the mall earlier, so if you want to get that for her and they're still there, I'll go with you to get it." I looked at her like she was insane.

"Um okay I guess. Thanks for telling me." I hugged her.

"Your welcome Samuel. She's like a sister to me, so I'm happy you came to me. I heard that you and Stacy had something planned for Christmas Eve. Care to tell me what it is?" She asked.

"It's supposed to be a secret."

"Oh come on Samuel! I won't tell anyone!" I rolled my eyes.

"Fine," I sighed, "But you have to promise not to tell anyone." She nodded. "Okay, Stacy is in love with Frozen and she wants to sing let it go for everyone. She begged me to play piano for her. She is singing that one by herself and she wants me and her to sing a duet together. We're singing Santa Claus is Coming to Town." She squealed. I flinched because of how loud it was.

"That is gonna be so cute,  Samuel!"I grinned. "Wait, you play piano?" As soon as she said that, Brenda came out of the bathroom in one of my T-shirts and a pair of shorts. She smiled when she saw me. She sat beside me an asked,
