(Domi POV)
For the rest of the period Ray would look down at his phone and smile. Hmm…
I decided to skip lunch and went to library. I actually had a big headache, so I laid my head down to rest for a second. I was just drifting to sleep, when someone tapped my shoulder. I sat up and ran my fingers through my hair. “Can I help you?”
Ray sits across from me. “What’s up?”
“Headache.” I said, kicking my feet up into his lap.
“Really?” He looks down.
I flash him a smile. “Yep.”
He laughs. “Alrighty, then.”
I shrug.
“Aye, these Adidas are dope. Where you get ’em?” Ray asks.
“My closet.” I said.
He smirked. “You not funny.”
“I think I am.” I said, with a smile.
Some girl walked up just then. “Hey, Ray.”
Ray looked over at her. “Wassup?”
“Sorry we couldn’t get together this weekend, wanna try again on Friday?” She asks.
Pause. The hell? Was this “Dani”?
“Uhm…I don’t know. I’ll have to see.” Ray shrugs.
“Okay.” She smiles and walks away.
Ray turns his attention back to me, messing with the laces on my Adidas.
“Who was that?” I asked, folding my arms.
“A friend I chill with sometimes.” Ray shrugs, like it’s no big deal.
i nod, slowly. “Okay.”
“Why?” He asks.
“I was just wondering.” I said, looking down at my black-painted nails. I’d have to redo them for the Formal Ball. Speaking of… “You going to the Ball?” I asked.
“I don’t think so.” Ray says.
“Why?” I asked.
“I go every year and I always end up bored out of my mind.” Ray says. “Soo…I might just chill at home. Wanna join me?” He asks.
“I’m going.” I said. “But, if you get lonely…I’m sure your friend will be more than able to come and keep you company.” I said, with a fake smile.
Ray smirked. “You jealous.”
“Of what, exactly? You’re not my boyfriend.” I said.
“You catching feelings for me, so…seeing other girls flirting with me is making you protective.” Ray says.
“That’s your conclusion?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.
“That’s a fact. Domi. Chill, I like you. I mean, REALLY like you. So…I won’t do anything to hurt you.” Ray says.
“Whateves.” I said, taking my feet off his lap and getting up. “Bell’s gonna ring. See you in math.” I add, grabbing my bag and walking out of the library. For some reason…I was really pissed off.
(Ray POV)
What’s up with her? I shrug it off and leave the library. I bumped into Trey.
“Whaddup?” He asked.
“Not much. You?”
“I feel like ditching. I hate Gov.” Trey says.
I laugh. “Same. But…I already missed a bunch of days. So, I’ll catch you later.”
“A’ight.” We dapped up and I head to class.
“Aye, Ray.”
I turn around. “Whoa…” I said.
She smiled, hugging me. “Long time, no see. How you been?”
“Uhm…fi-fine. What are you doing here? I thought you moved to NYC, sophomore year.” I asked.
“Daddy’s job moved us back.” She smiles. The bell rings. “Gotta get to class. We should chill some, ’kay?”
I nod, slowly. I was so starstruck as she walked away. Never was this happening. Hell…no….
My first love, Raven….was back. Damn…
