What caused the "Scramble for Africa"?

The hustle and bustle of Africa was a period of rapidly hctec colonization of the continent by European powers that lasted from 1880 to 1900. At the beginning of the 1880s, only a tiny part of Africa was under European rule 20 years later, almost the entire African continent was colonized.  There had been several factors which led to the scramble for the African continent, Developments in Europe rather than in Africa had most to do with the situation. During the 19th century, a year had barely gone by without a European entering into Africa. The boom in idea to explore the content was triggered by the creation of the African Association in 1788. The members of said Association wanted someone to find the city of Timbuktu and the course the Niger River. Later, however; the goal of exploring had changed Rather than traveling out of curiosity they started to look for profit from extremely wealthy businessmen.
