Feeling refreshed, the man opened his eyes and scanned the surroundings. He was sleeping in what appeared to be a tent. Sitting up and opening the 'door', he looked outside and noticed he was alone. Then again, it was still dark out so maybe he just couldn't see the other people. Without too much thought he went back inside and zipped the tent closed again.

Q, you there?

"Yes, I was just about to transfer the original souls' memories and the general story to you. Please find a comfortable position and relax."

So you really can read my thoughts, huh

"To an extent, yes."

Hmm, well, don't do that anymore

"...right." That's odd, he shouldn't have any power. Why can't I see what he's thinking anymore?

Shifting inside the tent, the man got into a comfortable sitting position.

I'm ready

"Huh?! R-right, I'll send it over now." Is it only possible for me to see what he wants me to see? But how could he possibly have control over that?

As soon as he received confirmation, the man steadied his breathing and prepared for the worst. Contrary to his expectations though, there was no pain or discomfort, just a slight tingle. In front of him, a game-like screen appeared in front of his face.

That's odd, I was expecting to be struck with a horrible migraine or something. Is transferring information really that easy? How come I don't feel any different?

"Of course. We prioritise comfort among other things. Technology has advanced far beyond what you could possibly imagine, just look at me. Therefore, you will not receive the new memories until they are ready to be injected into you without backlash. Though, if you would prefer, I can certainly make it hurt. If you don't mind the pain, you can also access the new memories instantly."

Thanks, but no thanks. I'll do fine without the pain

"Now, please focus on the screen in front of you. It contains important information on the world you're currently in and the story that you'll have to fix. The memory transfer has begun but will take a little while longer to complete. Please excuse the delay."

Shifting his attention back to the new information, he began reading through the dense wall of text on the screen.

This world was very much like Earth. The protagonist of this world is Olivia Hale, an ordinary high school girl. While her family doesn't live in poverty, they aren't exactly well off either. With five brothers, she is the second oldest of the children, she ended up becoming quite the tomboy (much to the disappointment of her parents). As she was accustomed to dealing with boys, she had more male than female friends. Despite her tomboyish ways, there were more than a few boys who were charmed by her good looks and outgoing personality. One such admirer was William Mathias, the 'bad boy' and second male lead of this world. A delinquent-type with a penchant for breaking hearts. A notorious player in the area as well as a good fighter. Unknown to most he was actually the third young master of a very rich and well-known family, he wanted to get away from his stressful life and experience a 'normal' teenage life. Everyone was both frightened by and fascinated by him.

Of course, that doesn't include the heroine. After all, she was too busy crushing on her childhood friend Zach, the classic older-brother-type. The only one who had ever treated her like a girl and her very first crush. Handsome, kind, funny and horribly dense. A typical male protagonist. He obviously had no idea that Olivia thought of him that way, he only thought of her like a little sister. That is until he meets Will.
