The Water Drifter

I can swim ever so swiftly

With a single kick of a limb sending me into the depths

Cutting through the water makes me feel ever so free

Almost as if I am a great eagle

Yet most days I lazily float on my back letting the wind and waves roll by me

I haven't a care in the world besides surviving

Yet even that isn't taxing

For all, I must simply do is once again cut through the ocean blue

And find an oyster or two

The winter may be cold to some but I am still full from summers lunch

Let the snow and ice cover my great sea

See if I care

This amazing Alaska air lulls me to sleep yet again

If you worry about the storms of life

You won't get anywhere

Instead, let the tides take you where they may

For there isn't a current I can't escape

So there is never a threat to my fate
