The snow sprinkles down as I stare up in thought

My thoughts soaring into the day I just went through

Christmas the one holiday we wait for every year

Yet its gone in a flash

We spend more than a month preparing

For what seems to be the most over thought holiday

We give gifts of food and toys but for what reason?

We decorate and prepare all for one day

The gift that started it all is forgotten among the tinsel and presents

Alas, it was lost but not yet forgotten.

For the King to rule them all was born humbly in a small cave

As angels sung high above of his prophesy and grace

And shepherds awakened a town for worship on high

Great men from far away journeyed to that land

To but lay eyes on Him the Savior of all men.

I think about this tale and how it rings true.

How he was born to die and born to save all on that Christmas day.

I smile as I think of all He did for me

A king of men sought to destroy the Son of God

"We seek to do the same,"

I whispered with a tear,

"For we try to forget His name to shove it away without a second thought."

"This day I won't forget,

His name I shall not shame!"

"He did so much for me

Why can't I do the same?"
