Chapter 4 - The first experience

I woke up suddenly when I heard a loud bang and the trailer bouncing roughly. I turned suddenly in my bunk, not realizing how small it was and fell out, thankfully landing in Chris's arms. I looked at him sleepily. 'What the hell is going on?!' I asked in more of a panicked tone than I expected. He put me down and said he thought we had a flat. Josh pulled the trailer over and we all got out and it was what Chris had suspected, a flat. All the guys rubbed their eyes and Josh looked exhausted.

Brandon : Josh you've been driving all night. I'll change the flat and drive the rest of the way so you can get some sleep.

Ricky : Yeah Josh get some sleep, I'll help Brandon.

Josh didn't argue, he simply sat in the grass with his head in his hands, showing how exhausted he was. I sat with him while the guys opened the smaller trailer that was hitched to the bigger one to get a spare tire and the rest of the tools they needed. I lit a cigarette and asked Devin for the time, and it was earlier than I thought.. Only 8am. I looked around for signs and saw we had just made it into Michigan.

After the guys finished changing the tire and Ricky, Ryan and I smoked, we all loaded into the trailer. Brandon took over driving while we all sat in the living area, keeping our volume down so Josh could get a few hours of sleep.

Chris : Hey Lexx, you hungry?

I nodded, along with the other guys so I got up and helped Chris get bowls and cereal out. We all decided on having Naked juice and frosted flakes. After eating I pulled Chris to the side to talk to him about what he had said last night.

Me : Can we talk about what you told me last night?

Chris: I promise we will tonight. I want to do it alone.

I nodded and watched him walk to the back of the trailer, to get dressed. I went back to the booth and sat down next to Ryan, and talked to him, Ricky & Devin for a while. Once they got busy texting their girlfriends I went to the front and sat in the passenger seat to talk to Brandon since I haven't really had a conversation with him yet.

Me : Hey, do you mind if I sit up here with you?

Brandon : Nah, I think I'd rather have someone to talk to anyway. How do you like being on tour so far, even though you haven't seen the preparations that happen at the venue yet.

Me : I like it, you guys definitely make me feel welcome. How do you like being in Motionless?

Brandon : It's good, I feel like its what I'd rather be doing with music. When I was in TWWR it just didn't seem right entirely.

I nodded in understanding.

Me : Well are you still on good terms with TWWR?

Brandon : Yea, we're still great friends, no hard feelings. They're happy that I'm happy.

Me : How about the fans? Did they welcome you with open arms?

Brandon : Oh yeah, the fans of Motionless have been great.

We talked until we got to the venue then I went to the back to tell the guys that we had arrived. They all went outside to stretch so I decided now would be a good time for me to shower. I went to my suitcase, grabbed my outfit for today then headed to the bathroom to shower. After showering I got dressed, did my make up, and hair.

After getting dressed I grabbed my phone and cigarettes and headed outside. When I opened the door I nearly hit Balz with it, causing us both to laugh.

Balz : I was just coming in to get you! Chris wants to show you whats up with the merch.

I nodded and went to the back of the small trailer, finding Chris sitting on the bumper, scrolling threw something on his phone.

Chris : Hey! After I show you whats what and we get it into the venue we can go get lunch. sound good?

Me : Yup!

Chris showed me which box held what and helped me carry the boxes into the venue, then he gave me the price sheet and explained what went down in price so I could change it and then we headed back outside to see if the guys wanted to get lunch with us. I was hoping they wouldn't, so Chris would tell me whats up with what he said to me last night, but Josh and Brandon were coming with us. We walked a few blocks until we decided on a hoagie place. We all sat at the booth and ate while we talked about random things. After we finished eating we started heading back to the trailer but I saw a pair of shoes in a shop window that I had to have. Chris went in with me and I actually came out with three pairs of shoes.

After purchasing my shoes me and Chris walked back to the trailer, to find the guys hanging outside with a few fans that showed up early. They all screamed when they saw Chris and gave me a look of confusion. Chris introduced me and said I was their new merch girl amd they all complimented on how pretty I was, making me smile. I took the pictures and they wanted one with me, and even though I didn't understand why, I gladly took one with them. After they left we all headed into the trailer, so the guys could get dressed for the show. They all changed clothes and did their make up. I scrolled threw tumblr while they got ready then headed inside the venue to set up the merch table.

I carefully folded T'shirts and placed them on the table and taped the price sheet to the table, then placed some hoodies and patches on the table. Then I hung one of each T'shirt and hoodie on the rack behind me so the fans could see what they wanted easier. I also placed some posters on the table for when Motionless did their signing. By the time I finished setting up the guys came in to do sound check. I watched as they did sound check then hung around while the other bands did sound check and talked to the other people who were doing the merch for the other bands. After the sound checks came to a close I walked back to the merch table and sat down. After a few minutes they started letting fans in. They all looked so excited. A few fans stopped by the merch table and bought a few things before the show started.

After about 45 minutes the first band came on, some opening band that I didn't catch the name of. Then the rest of the bands went on then it was Motionless who came on. I saw them live before but they got even better, if that was even possible. I sang alone to each song and watched how crazy the crowd went. after they show it was like a stampeed when they all ran to the different merch tables. I sold so much merch that by the time the guys came out to do the signings, they table was pretty much empty. I stood to the side while the guys signed posters and tickets until the venue security told everyone it was time to go. after all the fans filed outside I began packing up the remaining merch into the boxes. Rickey and Balz walked over to me, with Chris followed behind them.

Balz : So how'd it go? Looks like you were kept busy.

Me : It was great. The fans were great. You guys did great as well.

They all thanked me then helped me carry the boxes to the small trailer. After the fans all left the streets, the guys started bringing out all their stage equitment. When everything was loaded up, we all went to get dinner before driving off. I was anxious as we ate, because I wanted to know what Chris knew. After eating we headed back to the trailer and filed in. all the guys sat in the living area while me and Chris walked back to the bunks. He sat on the floor, and padded the space next to him for me to sit. After I sat down he pulled a small box from his bunk and filed threw pictures until he pulled out a picture and handed it to me. I was at loss for words.. and still I had many unanswered questions. My eyes filled with tears at the sight of the picture and Chris looked at me with sorry eyes. 'I'm sorry Lex.. But its true.' He said softly.
