Tip 11: Creating Story Covers

If you're a talented person who is capable of making beautiful covers all on your own, go for it. If you're a talent-less swine like myself, I advise you reach out to the Wattpaders that make covers! Like the editors, they use this platform to practice their cover making skills and are, more often than not, elated to lend a helping hand in bettering your book.

Most cover makers that I've encountered do it for free (the only rule is that you follow them and credit them, which is honestly just common courtesy and respect). A lot of cover makers have books set up as portfolios where they shout out books they've already made covers for or include the pictures along the some. Some have websites where they display the photos they made. Look at the #covers tag and find someone whose skill catches your eye and reach out.

If you make covers, feel free to advertise yourself in the comments of this book. That's what this book is for.
