Everly and I had been getting along really well, despite her shy and sheltered ways.
She was actually fun to hang around when she wasn't stressing over school work. We've been a month and several weeks in and the girl was already studying for finals.
Nerd, I thought humorously."Come onnn," I beg her stubborn figure. "It'll be the first one we attend since the semester started and there's already been six since then."
I was currently laid on the foot of her bed, practically pulling her toe. She's never been to a party in her life and I wanted her to experience what they truly were.
The parties celebrities threw were usually formal and uptight but when the setting was more laid back, they were killer.
"I know that but, what if there's lots of people there? Aren't they going to notice you?" She lathered on the excuses.
When she found out who I was, we were sitting in the café having lunch when a bunch of kids came squealing over, asking for pictures while snapping a couple before I even answered.
She was tense because of the crowd but her curiosity won that day. When I told her the reason why random people bombard me for pictures she was so caught off guard that she spat out her milk and I snorted with laughter.
"I don't care if they notice me; as long as they don't interfere with my fun.
Plus, Ben will be there," I smile at her.
She had no way out of this and my smile only grew because I had realized that.
She still looks unsure, fidgeting with the edge of her notebook before speaking."Okay but-"
"Yes! Let's go shopping," I quickly drag her off the bed before she had anymore time to change her mind.
***"Dang, did they make this out of a napkin?" Everly speculates, holding a ruby spaghetti strap dress.
We were currently at the mall about a mile away, in a very high end store.
Although I shop at much more expensive places, this Hilfiger store would have to do.I laugh. "The thinner they be, the more the boys see."
She flings her eyes at me, a disgusted look on her face.
"I'm kidding, I'm kidding!
Some girls actually prefer to 'put it all out there' and that's fine, if that's what they prefer," I shrug.
"What do you prefer?" She questions with one raised brow.
"I like something that shows a little skin," I begin, skimming through dresses.
"Something bright to complement my skin tone.
Something daring yet elegant, sexy yet innocent, something intricately designed yet simple.Something...,"
My hands cease their movement as they fall on a golden dress. It was short much to my delight, with no sleeves.
My fingers run to and fro over the velvety material and I just knew that it'll feel great on my skin. When I hold it up against the light, it sparkles magnificently but not too overbearing.
"Like this," I show the dress to her. "This is exactly what I would wear."
She comes over and inspects it, a satisfied look adorning her face as she runs her hand along the body of the garment.
When she reaches the price tag however, her eyes double in size.
