"Well if it isn't our resident rock star." I smiled walking up to the garage
Adam smiled and immediately walked over engulfing me in a hug, "Em, you're back!"
I laughed and hugged him back, "I was only gone two days Adam."
"I know, but without my best friend around I was bored out of my mind." He said pulling back from the hug
I laughed, "I'm sure you were kept occupied by the plethora of girls throwing themselves at you."
Adam grinned as he threw his arm around my shoulders, "There was a lot of girls." He smirked at the thought. "But after they were gone I was left alone."
I rolled my eyes as a pang made it's way into my heart at the thought of Adam with those girls. "You had the band Adam. You lasted without me longer than two days before."
He led me inside, "That may be so but if I didn't have you in my life, Emerson Snow, I would be lost and forever alone." He looked at me, "You are my best girl and my only girl."
"If you say so Levine." I said as I opened his fridge.

"Please come with me tonight." Adam begged
"I don't know Adam. You know I don't like parties." I said looking at his puppy eyes. "Not the face! That's not fair!"
"Please Em! I promise I won't leave your side." He promised, "When you're ready to leave all you have to do is tell me and we'll leave."
I looked at him and contemplated the idea. Sighing, I gave a nod. "Fine, I'll go this once."
"Yes!" Adam threw his arm in the air and pulled me into a hug. "You won't regret this."
"I better not." I grumbled
:at the party:
Adam and I walked into the house where the party was being held. I was holding onto Adam's arm as he led me to the kitchen for a drink.
"Here you go." Adam said handing me a red cup filled with some type of alcohol
"Cheers." I sarcastically said and tossed the drink back quickly drinking all of it's contents.
Drink after drink was placed in my hand as I finished one off. I noticed Adam dancing with one of his 'fan girls' and glared. I downed my drink, set the cup down, took a deep breath and made my way towards him as I fixed my top.
"Go find someone else." I said shoving the girl away
Adam looked surprised but smirked none the less, "If you wanted me to yourself all you had to do was ask."
"I thought that was implied when you promised not to leave my side tonight and when I came down wearing this." I motioned to my booty shorts and crop top.
After a few hours of dancing, Adam took the initiative and led me to one of the rooms upstairs.

:10 years later:
I quickly made my way down the busy streets of L.A. I am probably gonna hate living here. I just got out of a meeting and was on my way to meet up with my best friend and daughter for our shopping trip before we had lunch.
"Sorry I'm late!" I said stopping in front of Emmalise and Aurora.
"It's okay mom." Aurora smiled, "Can we go shopping now?"
"Yes, we can." I smiled laughing
"Finally!" Emmalise exclaimed with a smile
Aurora and I laughed, "Come on, let's get this over with so we can go eat." I said
The three of us started walking towards the first shop.
"Maroon 5 is supposed to be filming a music video around here!" Aurora excitedly said, "I hope we get to see them! That would be so cool!"
"That would be cool!" Emmalise smiled at her then nudged my shoulder, "Right Em?"
"Huh?" I asked
"Seeing Maroon 5 would be cool, right?" She repeated
I looked at her and Aurora and hesitated on my answer. "Yeah, it'd be cool." I softly said
Aurora went on gushing over the band and their latest songs. Emmalise kept glancing at me as she listened to her go on and on about the band and the man I once knew.
I hadn't seen or spoken to Adam in 10 years. Two days after the party and our night together, he left. There was no warning, no call, no note, nothing. I didn't even get a goodbye. A few years after he left, I saw his face again only this time is was on a CD. He had finally made it. All his hard work and determination paid off. But he left me behind. He did exactly what he said he couldn't do. He lived his life without me.
Emmalise, Aurora and I walked out of one the many stores we had visited in the last two hours.
"Are we ready to eat now?" I asked
"Oh my god, yes! I am starving." Emmalise said
Aurora giggled causing me to smile, "Yes. I'm hungry now."
"Let's try that place we saw around the cor-" I was cut off as I bumped into someone. "I am so sor-" I started to apologize but stopped once I saw who it was
"No, no it was my...." He trailed off, "fault." He whispered. "Em." He softly said with wide eyes.
My eyes were just as wide as his. My throat felt dry and my heart was pounding. "Adam." I quietly said
He looked me over and gave me a small, genuine smile, "Wow. You look really amazing. Still as beautiful as I remember."
I looked at him shocked. I still couldn't believe Adam, my Adam, was in front of me. "Thanks." I whispered then cleared my throat, "You look good. I see you've added to your tattoos."
He glanced at his tatted arms and smiled, "I did. Took a while but I got everything I told you I wanted." He glanced behind me to see Emmalise and Aurora standing there. "Emmalise." He nodded
"Adam." She nodded back
Adam looked at Aurora, who was staring wide eyed, "What's your name sweetheart?"
"A-Aurora." She stuttered
He smiled, "It's nice to meet you."
Aurora looked between Adam and I, "Mom how do you know Adam Levine?"
Adam's eyes widened when she called me mom. "I used to know him a long time ago." I answered
"Aurora...." Adam looked at her, "How old are you?" I could see in his eyes, he was calculating. Trying to piece it together.
"I just turned 10!" She beamed
Adam's eyes got even wider and he looked at me but I looked away avoiding his stare.
