alternative universe: everyone has a guardian angel only they can see; their angel looks like their soulmate they meet later in life.

Age 4

Luke first saw his angel when he fell from his bike while his mum went to get him something to drink.

It was a hot summer day and when he kept saying how thirsty he was but refused to get off the bike, she quickly went in to get him some lemonade.

Two minutes.

More than enough for Luke to try to ride over the sidewalk because his brothers looked so cool when they rode over it.

Luke didn't look cool at all. He hit the first break and tipped over his small bike.

As soon as he hit the asphalt he started crying.

"Don't cry, your mum will be here soon."

Luke looked up and saw a boy, a bit older than him. His hair was dirty blonde and he was taller than him and had very red lips. Like Red Riding Hood in his books.

His angel grabbed his hand and wiped his tears away while they waited together for his mum to come.

Age 9

The thing was, Luke's soulmate was very clumsy.

Luke knew that because whenever the angel of you would visit your soulmate you'd then dream about it. There were never any signs of where your soulmate was from or what their name was.

Luke only remembered waking up and remembering how the green-eyed boy always did something stupid and got hurt.

He didn't mind of course, like he told his mother, his soulmate looked very beautiful.

Age 12

Whenever anyone would ask him about his soulmate Luke would start blushing hard.

For the past year and more he was extremely careful to not injure himself or be too sad.

Luke wasn't sure he could take seeing his guardian angel again. Once in his dreams, the beautiful boy called Luke pretty.

He said that he couldn't wait to meet him in real life and kiss him.

Luke felt like there were thousands of little angels dancing and singing in his stomach when he woke up after having that dream.

He just didn't want his soulmate to dream about him because then he would see what a stupid crush he has on him.

Age 14

Luke was warned about it.

They talked about it in school and his doctor was concerned about it too.
