Luke was biting his lips so much in the last week it rarely stopped bleeding. He wiped away the blood and kept staring at the view from the train.

It was beautiful. The sky was the same but everything else, the trees, the buildings just looked like freedom to him.

He kept checking the time on his watch to make sure he won't miss the station that was his destination. The lady said it'll take approximately an hour and twenty-four minutes which meant Luke should be there in fifteen minutes.

The backpack with all of his remaining belongings was safely secured on his lap. In his hands, he had the train ticket that he didn't let go of since he bought it, the map one of the social workers at the orphanage gave him and the last postcard Michael had sent him.

It was the address where Luke knew he'll find him.

Two months ago, Michael left him to build a better life for not only himself but Luke as well. Luke overreacted, he knew that. He apologized to Michael when a week later the boy called to let him know he was okay.

Luke still wasn't. He not only missed his boyfriend terribly but was going through hell in the house as he expected.

With Michael gone he was bullied by the kids who either disliked him or Michael, or their relationship.

So, he knew he had to leave.

It was the beginning of February and his birthday was too far away for him to wait.

That's why he didn't. He made a plan, got the map, took some of his belongings, and just left.

He had to admit, it all seemed a lot less stressful in his head than now, on the train not even knowing if the return address on the postcard was even real. Luke didn't have a phone but he did have Michael's number and he hoped that one way or the other he'd make it to his boy.

After the initial relief that he was in the right city, Luke realized it was much bigger and more crowded than he imagined.

It took time before he found the first building he circles on the map so he would know he was going in the right direction. Then it got easier and finally, after thirty minutes of walking, he came to the right address.

Luckily for him, the apartment complex was small so it only took him a few minutes before he found the right door.

Of course, he didn't know if Michael was home, he wasn't even a hundred percent sure that this really was his home.

He knocked and waited. Not for long before someone opened the door.

"Oh god." Michael almost shouted and pulled Luke into a hug. He didn't look good but he at least looked happy to see him.

Luke immediately relaxed when Michael wrapped his arms around him. And he really wasn't a crier but the overwhelming feeling got him. "I missed you." He whispered against Michael's warm skin.

"Baby." Michael moved back and kissed him for just a second. "I missed you too but I've been going insane from worrying. They called me from the home and told me you left. You know the police can take you back, here will be the first place they'll come and look."

Luke shook his head and wiped the tears. "My aunt will sign the papers."

Michael pulled him inside and closed the door. "Why would she do that? She didn't want anything to do with you in the first place."

"I gave her some money." He explained as the older boy took his things away and put them on the floor.

"How much?"

Luke bit his lip, again. This time, Michael wiped away the blood.

"Babe you were saving for so long."

"Yes," He agreed. "To get away and be with you."

Michael smiled and made him sit down.

It was only then that Luke took a look at the small one-room apartment. The kitchen, small dining area, and living space were all in one room but there was also a small bathroom. It wasn't much but it was Michael's.

"You have such a nice place."

"It's our place," Michael answered and kneeled in front of the seventeen-year-old. "Yours and mine. And one day we'll own a house and a dog. Just like we talked about."

"You're not mad at me?" Luke pouted.

"Of course not, I missed you too. I just wish you'd told me beforehand so I would at least clean the apartment or take a day off at work."

"It's our apartment." Luke smiled. "I'll clean it when you'll be at work."

Michael grinned and kissed him before dragging his boyfriend to the sofa bed.

"I didn't mean that." Luke laid next to the love of his life. "I was cruel to you when you left me. Told you I didn't want your love but it's all I want."

"Shh." Michael smiled and caressed Luke's cheek. "It was a bad day for both of us."

"Your birthday shouldn't be a bad day." Luke reached into his pocket and pulled out a necklace he saved for a long time to buy.

Michael took the gift like it was the biggest treasure and kissed Luke until the boy was smiling.

"You make my life happier every day and I can't wait to be alone in this big world with you."

Luke laughed from nothing but pure happiness.

"Alone with you is home for me."
