Michael had his head on Luke's lap as his boyfriend of eight, fiancé of two, and husband of five years was reading a book.

While his hubby was educating himself, Michael at the age of almost thirty-three was watching cartoons. And he loved it.

He loved that this was his life. Sixteen years back when they were best friends none of them would imagine they'd get married. One of them was still in the closet and Michael would never admit it out loud that he found Luke Hemmings hot.

But now they were here. Together. Forever.

In Michael's opinion, nothing was missing, though he knew Luke did not feel the same.

He never wanted kids, Michael wasn't the best person in the world and he didn't feel like raising a kid would do anyone any good.

But Michael loved Luke and when he saw the way he looked at a kitten in a shelter they visited, he got him that kitten.

When Luke started looking at jewelry shops more often, he noticed and got him the prettiest ring.

Luke once asked Michael to stop the car to go and see some houses, Luke's favorite was theirs the next week.

Michael wanted to spend the rest of his life with Luke and he intended to make Luke as happy as he made him feel.

So, when three months ago he found a book about babies, Michael knew he needed to confront his husband. He didn't want kids and he wasn't sure that was something he could do for Luke.

Then on Luke's thirty-second birthday, they went back to Sydney to celebrate with the Hemmings' family and Michael met Luke's nieces for the first time.

He's seen them before but they were just little crying, pooping things. Now the twins were almost three, had the Hemmings' curls and beautiful deep brown eyes.

And they loved Michael.

Plot twist. Michael loved them too.

"Babe?" Michael said once the cartoon has ended.

"Yeah, my love?" Luke moved the book so he could see his husband's face.

At first, the older man just smiled at him and Luke already knew something was up. Michael could see how suspicious he was already. "Wouldn't it be fun if someone would be watching cartoons with me?"

Luke frowned. "I'm sorry. I'll watch the next one if it means so much to you."

He rolled his eyes. "Not you."

The frown deepened. "Calum?"

Michael shook his head. "A little mini you."

His beautiful husband was still confused. "Mikey... What do you mean?"

"I've seen the books you read. I noticed what you Google in the evenings."

"I told you, you're enough for me."

"I know." Michael smiled. "But if we find a surrogate and get another human that looks like you, my world will be even better."

Luke was already tearing up. "Mikey."

"But I get to name them." Michael laughed as Luke pressed their lips together.

Two years later Luke was reading a book on teething, Michael was watching a cartoon with his head on Luke's lap and little mini Luke called Hanzo sleeping on top of Michael's chest.
