✥Chapter 1: Prologue ✥
1705
The annual Harvest Moon ball was a huge party event for all of the citizens of Paris. Famous leaders from around the world and people went to this ball every year, during the full October moon. It was a fancy cheer and luck to the upcoming harvests around the world and a cheers to a plentiful beginning.
This was the fifth annual ball and was held in the historic and significant House of France-at least that's what they called it. It was basically the grand castle of France, where King and Queen Li'anne (Lee-ahn-knee) reside. So far, this was the youngest royal couple of the royal family.
The King was famously known for his green eyes, and brown hair, while the Queen was known for her grace and light voice. The huge ball consisted of: a masquerade, everyone had to wear a mask; dancing, drinking the finest, eating the best food, and the long awaited 'Queen's Gown'. A week before the party, maidens from everywhere would sign their names on a sign-up sheet to be chosen as the winner of the event.
It was more of like a fashion show- they would shop for the best gowns, even travel to Thailand for silk fabric for their custom made dresses to be the best of the best. Shoes, makeup, jewelry, hair- it all counted for the show. The winner has to be chosen by the prince himself - the winner would be given a prize of money, a bouquet of lovely roses, and a dance with the prince. But the contest would change depending on the gender of the soon to be leader- if there was a prince, it would be the girls who would be the participants; if there was a princess- the boys would be the sign-ups....but it was rare for it to be a princess. So there would usually be a handsome prince who would await to dance with a lovely lady.
But somehow this one didn't go as planned. As this party went on, the Queen was dancing with a few others and made conversation with some.
Her eyes were like the blue waters of an ocean, fair skin, brown-blonde hair styled into a tight curled bun with a curl flowing from the bottom, her face shown off her young age of barely 21. She danced like the ocean waves themselves as she fell into the arms of a charming guy. The Queen was known for her little flirts, but she was still loyal to her husband. He was tall, slight built, dressed in black and white (that 1700 fashion yall idk what to call that-ER HAMILTON), and a mask of black to match.
He was the only one in the building that had jet black hair, or was he? "Oh? I never seen you before?"
"M'lady, its an honor dancing with you" his burgundy eyes locked into hers, taking a slight glance down at her pink lips.
The Queen looked casually at others dancing and saw a few more with black hair. Weird, must be part of some outting.
But she couldn't take her eyes off of him for some reason. Am I losing myself lately? she thought to herself.
"Are you okay? You feel a little cold!"
"I'm fine, as long as I'm with you" the Queen blushed slightly.
He was slick. Pretty slick (but not slippery). The two made more conversation as they kept dancing. It was not just minutes bust was beginning to be an hour, and hour of straight out dancing and talking-both were not tired yet. The more they did, the more the Queen was losing a grip on reality, slipping into his trance, and the more closer he was to her neck- he could hear her heart beat, blood pumping through her body.
It was as if everything was slowly going into slow motion, from simple to normal conversation to slight whispers of joy to whispers in the ear of the Queen herself to cold lips that met her neck to her heart beating slower until it stopped...for now.
