Yep. I signed up for track, and I have auditions after school today. I was thinking about it as I changed into my clothes in the girls locker room, I slid on my leggings (fabletics like) and searched in my bookbag for my top.
I pulled it out and my face dropped. "Noooo. Why the crop top?! I must've thought this was my favorite tee!!" It was a crop top with stars and clouds (tumblr aesthetic), saying 'Reach for the stars'-okay you guys don't care about what it says.
I slip it on as it showed my stomach. I pulled it down a bit but it didn't really work as my bandages shown. "Well they don't look too bad I guess. Meh." I couldn't put on a jacket because I would be too hot. Hmm....I walked out of the girls locker room quickly with my jacket tied around my waist- it luckily covered the bandages. I went into the huge gym, and sat on the bleachers.
On the very edge, at the front, waiting for the rest of the class to change and get to the bleachers and for the teacher. People started to come out as I pulled my hair in a bun/ponytail (or normal if you have short hair). "Whats up with the top-"
"OH SHIKES! Bruh why you come up on me like that?!"
"I thought you knew."
"Whatever."
"..."
"...My face is up here" I left his face to mine.
"I was secretly complimenting you"
"Whatever, like that was the cause" "Alright!" a whistle blowed. "We got a new student here and his name is...uh Janwayis?" "Januis" everyone looked at him, some of the girls checking him out. "Ay you that rich guy? Can I get a Ferarri?" Felix asks, making the whole class laugh.
I heard mumbles and a group went "ooh" "*blows whistle*Today, we're going to do a few warm ups and then we'll have a volleyball game. For the warm up: rope climbin'!" the whole class groaned.
"I can't do that! I'll bust my a-" "HEY! None of that in here! This is about effort! So lets see who can get to the top first. Remember, track team auditioners: the audition is after school at 4pm so you can stay here and help out with putting out props, or come back later. You may bring your parents, or friends with you as you please."
"Alright....let's start with-Januis, Chase, Felix, lets go." All three went to the 3 spaced ropes besides each other. "When I blow this whistle thats when you start". They got into position, then the whistle blowed. People started to cheer the guys on as they climbed the rope. Felix surprisingly started to be in last place, as there was a tie between Chase and Januis. "DO IT RICHIE RICH!" "CHASSSSSEEEE!!!" (you pick who wins this is getting too awkward for me...).
"HE DID IT AYYYYY" girls screeching, people surprised by the outcome. The rest of the boys went by three and then came the girls. The first set of girls went and then suddenly I hear my name, "....and....y/n" I heard boys going 'oooh' in a lovey dovey way. I blushed holding my arm still sitting on the bench. The whole time I was thinking if my bandages would show. "What's wrong?" Chase looks at me, well, he looks cute when his hair is wet.
Wait how the- "Will it show?" I ask him, "That's unusual, you really don't care about things like that. Did that guy do something to you?" "Shut up." "Well it makes you look tougher and hotter that way" "Thanks for the encouragement" I say sarcastically.
The other girls made it to their rope already and people was conversating, and some was looking at me. "Whats up y/n? Ashamed of that shape of yours?"
"Be glad I can't rip your teeth out right now" "OOOHHHH!" some more guys and girls started laughing. I got up and jogged to my rope.
"Alright!" we got into position. The silence followed, the whistle blowed. I hopped on the rope and everyone started cheering, I even heard a few squeaks of my name. I climbed, pulling with each move, scooting up, catching the rope with every pull and throw. I was ahead of the other two- then my waist was stripped of its warmth. My jacket fell to the ground I stopped and looked at it. Then catcall whistles sounded, my face started to grow red/hot. I kept climbing since I was almost there. Then the whistle was blown again and I climbed back down. "EVERYONE SPLIT INTO TEAMS BY YOUR LAST NAMES! A-O THIS SIDE! AND P-Z THAT SIDE!" the teacher yells, pointing at the sides of the volley ball net. We all climbed down as people started getting to their side of the volleyball net. Januis walked up to me as I started tying my jacket. "You did great up there. Never thought you would do something like that."
"I don't care to be honest." I started having a hard time tying my jacket, he slipped it off and had it high in the air. "Gimme! Not funny!"
"I think its cute how you reach for it...." he leans in my ear, "I think its hot to be honest" I jerked away from him. "Give me the jacket or you'll know whats good for you!" I growl.
"Fine here." He reaches it to me, I grab for it but it was swiftly yanked back into the air, "Januis!" I jump for it, but was still out of my reach, getting more embarrassed by my bandaged waist showing. My hand reached for it almost making it there struggling, "Januis leave her alone!" I turned around seeing Chase, giving Januis a stare. "(beep) I said give her the jacket back!" Januis gives off a smirk
"Hmph" and drops the jacket in my hands, and walks off. My cheeks were burning/hot, "You okay?"
"Y-Yeah, I-I'm fine." "He didn't touch you or...." "I said I'm fine!" "Okay okay sheesh" we both walk over to our side of the net.
