*you are 12 years of age, a transfer student at the academy.*

"CALM DOWN CLASS, we have a new student!", Iruka-sensei yelled trying to get his class to be quiet.

"Now tell them your name, please", your new sensei said as you put on a light smile and waved your hand shyly.

"The names, _______ _______. Nice to meet all of you." You exclaimed while looking at your new classmates.

The room fell silent as your new classmates just stared at you. You started to feel insecure until a certain blonde haired male with cerulean-blue eyes and cute whisker marks suddenly burst," HIYA THERE ______!" With a wide smile that made you giggle to yourself.

"_______, you may sit wherever you want." Iruka-sensei said in a low voice.

You looked everywhere for potential seats. You figured you would sit next to the kid with the duck butt hair style until you felt several menacing eyes lay upon you. You came to the conclusion that you would most likely get pummeled if you were to choose that seat, so you sat next to the nice fellow with the orange jacket. You wondered what his name was..

"The names Uzumaki Naruto!", he said with a huge grin, white teeth sparkling.

"Hello, it's nice to meet you Naruto-kun.", You said with a small eye-closed smile.

-after class-

"So, _____-chan, do you maybe.. I don't know... Want to get some ramen...with ... M-me..?"

"OF COURSE! Ramen is my favorite!", you exclaimed.

"Really?! It's mine too!", Naruto said with a small blush on his cheeks.

While walking to the ramen shop, you couldn't help but notice that he kept getting mean stares from everyone. Kind of how you did back at your previous village.. Suddenly Naruto accidentally bumped into a lady carrying a large basket.

"WATCH OUT YOU IDOT!", she said with wrath in her voice.

"I'm sorry miss, I didn't mean too... Here, let me help you...", Naruto said slowly. You could see the hate in the ladies eyes and the fearful look in Naruto's.

"No, just get away you monster. No body would ever want YOUR help.", the lady said in a nasty tone. You could feel the blood boil inside you. You couldn't help but want to help Naruto. You finally spoke up.

"Excuse me miss, but who do you think you are judging someone by their looks?! You have no right to talk to anyone like that, especially someone who apologized and was going to help you. You call him a monster one more time and you'll have to deal with me, and you wouldn't want to do that.." You said as you tried calmed down. You gave a sharp look to the lady that said 'I dare you to say something'. She quickly averted her gaze from you and swiftly picked up her stuff and hurriedly walked away.

Naruto was dumbfounded, someone actually stuck up for him. He finally found a friend that he could trust. He kept a shock expression on his face as he turned to face you. You couldn't help but smile at the blonde, he was your first friend at the village and you always protect your friends.

"Thank you for that _____-chan.", He said in a soft tone. You felt your cheeks flush red as he stared at you with those sparkling blue eyes.

*Later that day, you two were up on the hokage mountain, staring at the stars.

"You know _____-chan, you're my first friend...ever.." Naruto said while keeping his gaze up at the stars.

"You are mine also..", you said.

Naruto abruptly turned to his side facing you. "You know, we should make a pact!." He exclaimed as you looked back at him. Your (e/c) eyes looking into his blue ones.

"And what would that be?" You questioned.

"That we always have each others backs no matter what! We won't ever turn against one another and we'll always be best friends." He said

"Okay, that sounds like a great pact..hmmm.. I ______ vow to always be your friend and never turn my back on you for as long as I live!", you exclaimed happily at the blonde.

"And I Uzumaki Naruto vow to always protect and be your friend no matter what. As long as I am around, no one will ever hurt you. I'll be your best friend for life!"

You both looked at each other with huge smiles on your faces. You finally found someone just like you. You didn't know it yet, but he would never let that promise break. You two were destined to be together. As best friends.

That was just the beginning of a long and beautiful friendship.
