A/N: So this is nowhere near what it once was, but in less than 24 hours you guys have managed to get us back on the charts!! Thank you so much! Now on with the chapter 😉

By the way, it's short. I know that. I'll get the rest uploaded in another day or two. Sorry things have been so erratic the past couple days! I'm working on getting things back on track. And I know you're all super supportive and understanding with me, so thanks in advance!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A few days had gone by since you had gotten sick. You really enjoyed Dean's company and undivided attention. He did every little thing you asked of him. You couldn't help but think of what he would be like as a husband, if hunting weren't his job. Despite his stony exterior, he was actually kind and caring to those he let see him as he truly is.

You walked out of your room in leggings and a thin t-shirt, your hair was up in disheveled bun, and you didn't even care. You were feeling much better, but still not completely out of the woods. You had a stupid cough that was hell-bent on staying.

"Hey," you said, walking into the library. Dean was on the phone with someone, you assumed it was Sam about the hunt.

Dean grinned at you and said his goodbyes on the phone. "What's on the agenda for today?" he asked.

"We've been doing my agenda for the past few days. Why don't you pick something," you suggested.

His grin grew wider as if he was hoping you would say something like that. You smiled warily. "What's that suspicious grin for?"

Dean shoved his hands in his pocket and looked at the ground. What was with him? He was acting almost as if he was shy. You didn't think Dean Winchester had a shy bone in his body. He looked up and met your gaze. His eyes seemed greener, his eyelashes fuller, all because he was looking at with an intensity that you couldn't seem to place. He had never looked at you like that before. He was still not talking, only looking at you. You felt exposed and crossed an arm over your chest to rub your other arm.

"What?" you asked through an uncomfortable laugh.

"I was just...I was hoping that...that maybe I could take you out. On a...on a date." He rubbed has hand cross the back of his neck.

You fought hard to hide the smile and giddiness that was trying hard to show. You had to remind yourself to stay calm. All of your fears...and here he was asking you out.

"Dean—"

"Don't feel like you have to say yes. I just thought that maybe..." he kept rambling on about reasons you didn't have to go with him. You tuned him out and walked toward him.

He was still rambling when you reached him and nervously splayed your hand across his chest. You prayed that he couldn't hear your shaky breaths. "Quit it," you said softly. "I would love to go on a date."

"Wait," he said abruptly. "Really?"

You shook your head with a smile. "Most definitely."

Your words hung in the air as the two of you focused on one another. Everything seemed to move in a perfect slow motion as Dean's head craned down. Both of your eyes closed in anticipation and your heart raced...

To be continued.
