Niki and you ended up falling asleep at about two in the morning. The movies weren't very scary since you both saw the real thing on a near daily basis, but it was still entertaining. You had to admit that you had fun. The idea of slumber parties always seemed overrated when you were a friendless child, but now that you finally got to experience one far out of your childhood, it disappointed you knowing that you had missed so much growing up.

After breakfast, Niki started curling your hair and pinning it up in certain places. When she finished, there was probably at least half of a hairspray bottle emptied onto your strands. The good part was that it didn't look stiff like you had expected it too when she was relentlessly spraying the hair glue onto the curly masterpiece she constructed. It looked very pretty. She had most of it pinned back, but pulled several strands out around your face and even the nape of your neck.

You poked your head out of the bathroom and called out, "Are you sure these pieces in the back don't make it look messy or like it's falling out?"

Niki sighed and tsked. "It's supposed to look messy and like it's falling out. It's both elegant andsexy. Now shut it and let me do your makeup." She patted the bed for you to sit on.

"Are you sure the event is this elegant?" you asked warily, making your way to the bed. Showing up to an event overdressed is embarrassing. It's not happened much in your lifetime, but it has happened enough times to know how much you did not want that to happen.

"Positive. I had to reserve our spots weeks ago."

"Weeks? How did you know I'd come?"

"Blind faith," she chuckled.

You watched as she set out all of the makeup out onto the bed. There was another pang of feeling in your chest that you couldn't place, but it was caused by realizing that Niki reminded you of Sam. She could be a trouble maker, you learned that over the years of talking, but she would do absolutely anything for a friend. She proved that by learning how to hunt all to get revenge on whatever she thought killed you. Sam was the exact same way. He was a tough guy who could raise a little hell when needed, but you were pretty sure he would do anything for those close to him.

Niki started rubbing foundation all over your face with her fingers. You looked at her closely as she was focused on blending your makeup. Not only did she act like Sam in ways, but she even resembled him a little too. Though her hair was much shorter, it was almost the exact color. And other features of her face made you think of Sam. They certainly wouldn't be twins, but still similar.

She eventually finished making you look presentable and began getting ready herself. "There's a black dress in my duffle by the bed. I got it for you while you were showering last night to wear for the auction."

You hopped off your bed and sifted through the clothes in her bag. It didn't take long to find the elegant black dress. "Wow," you whispered in awe. You had never had anything that nice before. It seemed too expensive and pretty to touch, let alone wear. "Niki, this is gorgeous."

You unbuttoned Dean's flannel and put the dress on after clasping a bra over your breasts. The gown hugged you tight before gradually giving you more space on the bottom to walk. You walked on your tiptoes to the bathroom so you could view the dress on your body. It was tight in all the right places, you looked elegant and sexy just as Niki had promised.

"The plan is to get in there, find the First Blade, and get out," Niki stated as the two of you walked through the crowded hall of the auction.

"Yeah, because I'm sure there will be no hiccups along the way," you mumbled.

She smacked you with her small wallet. "Don't be so pessimistic. We could pull this off before Abaddon's goons know what's going on."

"I'm not being a pessimist," you grumbled bitterly. "I'm being a realist. I've been hunter for years more than you, Niki. Hunts rarely go without a hitch, and that's when demons and a Knight of Hell aren't involved."

"Well, let's just find this thing and get out of her as soon as possible."

You nodded your head, wishing that you had more of a weapon on you than the small flask of holy water sitting in your purse that was made more for looks than practicality. The more the both of you roamed around, looking at items that weren't the First Blade, the more apprehensive you were becoming. This all seemed to be a very bad idea.

People were everywhere. It was hard to think with all of the ritzy auction goers talking and laughing. Niki was not wrong. This auction was certainly fancy. All the men were in suits, some even going as far as wearing a tuxedo. The women were either in gowns or classy cocktail dresses. Nearly everyone had a glass of expensive wine in his hand. You felt out of place, even if you didn't look it.

"Maybe it's in the back," Niki whispered to you as you passed a glass case filled with a single ruby necklace.

You stopped her for a moment. "Why would a knife made out of a donkey's jaw be in an auction like this? Everything is so nice and expensive, and then there's a knife. It doesn't make sense."

"I don't know. Maybe because it's ancient and rumored to be an artifact from the Bible. That usually gets people pretty excited."

You rolled your eyes and continued searching. Nothing was coming up.

"Okay, everyone," a charismatic male voice sounded throughout the room. "If you could all quiet down, we will get this auction started off."

Niki looked at you in a panic and you knew the chances of getting the knife unnoticed were slim. The auction was starting. At that point, it was almost a given that the place would be crawling with Demons ready to literally do Abaddon's bidding.

"We need to get into that back room." Niki pointed to a set of metal double doors that led behind the platform. You nodded in agreement and began slithering past all of the bodies packed tightly together.

You hoped Niki had a plan for getting in the door. It was guarded by two dark skinned men who were rippling with muscle. If she planned on fighting, you knew it would be a loss. It would take at least three of you to take down those men. However, rather than questioning her, you followed her and trusted that she would figure it out. This was her hunt, after all.

"You two shouldn't be back here," the man said. His voice was strong and low, it was threatening.

"Listen," Niki started, rifling through her wallet. "We need to see an item that's back there behind those doors you're guarding."

"And why would we let you in?" the other man chimed. You noticed he had a tattoo peeking out of the collar of his shirt. It was surprising to see since everyone there was so clean cut.

"Because I have this." Niki pulled out a stack of fifty and one dollar bills. She waved it in their faces like she owned them. You were silently cheering her on for being so bold.

"Well why didn't you just say so," the tattooed man replied with a devilish grin. "Right this way."

Both men followed you in. Niki looked apprehensive. Her plan to get in worked. However, if you had to guess, she did not plan on having the guards follow us in. She should have. They would be stupid to let two random strangers into a room full of expensive items.

"What's the plan?" Niki whispered to you.

You gave her a look. You weren't the one who was supposed to be planning. She wanted this hunt. It was her baby. It should have been up to her to plan out the kinks.

"Here's the plan." You both turned around just in time to see both of the men charging at you, eyes black with a demon inside of them.
