It was hot. The world around him was burning in the sunlight, and Thor groaned undesirably. Alfheim was usually a sunny place, and he wasn't surprised at his grogginess and huge headache. What mystified him though is the citizens' ability to stay sane in this place.

He had been trudging along a dirt road, when he spotted a bar up ahead. It looked busy, but at the moment, he was desperate for anything that might cool him down. Slowly approaching the building, he pushed open the wooden door.

Immediately, he let out a breath of relief. There was an air conditioner which was relieving. His one good eye flickered around to inspect the tower scene as he ran a hand through his cropped sandy hair. There was a large bar lining the back wall and a female was wiping it down.

He approached cautiously and sat at a stool at the counter, watching her for a couple minutes. She was fairly attractive.

Thor waited until she was finished before raising his voice to voice his request. "Excuse me, m'lady? I would like a drink please." he told her, breath unexpectedly hitching as she looked over.

Her gaze was penetrating and features intricate, almost like she was handcrafted by the finest smith in Asgard. Her voice had an angelic air to it, and he zoned out in bliss as her lips moved to form words.

"Requests?" she finally snapped for the 3rd time, whisking him out of his trance.

"Uh... beer, please."

She went to go get his drink, and he looked over as a man sat in the stool next to him.

"Hey kid. You don't want to mess with (Y/N). She's the toughest woman in this town. Word is, she's been to Hell and back, and she threatens to put you there too." he warned in a raspy voice.

Thor just raised an eyebrow at him and chuckled. There was no way this woman couldn't fall for him. "I bet I could make her crack."

"Bet you 200 pieces you can't, buddy."

"Deal."

Both men shook on it, and returned their attention to (Y/N) as she came back with Thor's drink. She set it down in front of him with a small clink as glass met table, and glared at Thor expectantly.

Shivers went down his spine. "Thank you, (Y/N)." he said, and the man next to him tensed up.

"How do you know my name?" she questioned curiously, narrowing her eyes carefully. "Ye is a stranger. I ain't ever seen you before."

"Oh, you seem to be very popular out there. Perhaps, come with me and grab dinner, and I can show you exactly how?" Thor purred softly with a confident wink.

"Pass. Horrible flirting skills yer got there." She rolled her eyes and returned to work, to Thor's dismay.

...

Thor had tried and tried and tried again and again, but it never worked. She always replied to his offers with snarky refusal. Finally, he gave up.

"Told yer." the man chortled as Thor shoved 200 pieces of gold into his hand.

The thunder induced God signed the bill, but took a little longer than expected, scribbling away at the back of the receipt.

Finally, he left. Watching him leave, (Y/N) took the receipt and flipped it, to find a note written to her. It was clarified in horrible penmanship, but still eligible.

(Y/N),
